My Most Stable Relationship

My version of "reunion" dinner was with Jenn last night - mainly cause this girl has not been back for  at least two - three years.

We were catching up on each other's lives and people around us, also reminiscing about how different things were for us and how much we've grown..

Jenn: So.. 3 years.... A lot has changed huh?
Me: Mhmm! Except this place.. I think this is the only thing that's constant in my life
Jenn: Antonio's is the most stable relationship you had in your life

So true! It's been 7 great years with this restaurant.. :') And her too of course!

A 6.5 to 7

I am not going to say I have quite high level of spiciness but I love spicy food!

At one point in UK I was just making plain tomyam soup (literally just water and tom yam paste) with cili padi just because I felt like I need that "kick" for my taste bud/throat and stomach.

Back in Sheffield, our favourite Asian restaurant would rate their spiciness on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being I-think-your-head-can-actually-explode kind of spicy and 1 being you-coward! My level was always 5.5 or 6 and any beyond that is literally just as good as eating cili paste.

In Malaysia, I've failed to find any fried rice that can match the yummy-ness of Yummy's fried rice, but I recently discovered World's 3rd Spiciest Instant Noodles and boy, do I love it! I remember when I was actually sick and was put under house arrest for a week, I asked Zawir to bring me like 5 bowls of those noodles.

It is so sedap to eat it with nuggets zomgggg. This would've been so perfect on those cold winter nights!

Last weekend I got a care package from Zayana and it contained a pack of Maggi's Kari Cili Api instant noodles with a note: "I couldn't find the Korean noodles"

Me: I'm so tempted to try the noodles, but maybe I shouldn't (considering I spent the wee hours of the morning before puking my guts out -.-).. What level of spiciness are we talking here?
Zayana: Well... If I'm using Yummy's level, it'll be 6.5-7..

That would mean I'd be curling up into a ball after every 2-3 spoons of the food guys.. Should I?

**edit**

I tried the Maggi Kari Cili Api.. There was nothing Cili or Api about it -___-

Celery is not as nice as salary

Guys! I finished 67% of those juices!

Okay.. 66.7...

Fine.... 66.67......

Ish 4 out of 6 lah okay!

Still more than 50%!!! Which is more than what I expected!

Conclusion?

Celery is not as nice as salary.

And the root of all evil most probably taste like beetroot.

Yuck.

BUUUUUT I feel much livelier today! I didn't wake up wanting to cry eventhough it was Monday and I know I have a few meeting scheduled. Don't know whether it's because of the juices effect or the fact that I slept rather early (before 12AM) yesterday.. But TBF I sleep before 12 or around 12 almost every weekday. On top of that I spent the entire Sunday cleaning and re-arranging my room so if its anything, I should be even more lethargic!

So I'd definitely go again for the Carrot + Orange juice, the PAM, the veggie juice with the word "Tropical" in its name :)

You know how they say if you consume too much carrots you'll turn orange? It's not true... riiiiight?

Veggie

As promised, I'll share my 2015 resolution this weekend.

Let's just jump straight to it:

I've decided that this year will be the year I start putting vegetables in my digestive system!

Why you ask?

You see, I'm always so bloody tired these days, it's insane! I am only 22 as much as I like to pretend that I'm "old". So one day whiny ol' me was well, whining (duh) about how I'm always tired to my mother. She told me it's because I don't eat veggie so I'm malnourished. Suddenly my mother is a dietician guys! Lol

Following that, I was really determined to start eating salad (for one day, actually one meal during that one day lol). I really tried, but my throat just won't corporate! My brain was already accepting the fact that veggies/salad do look appetising, but my throat, na'uh you ain't making me swallow that hunneyh

Brainy-Me then thought the next best thing was juices! Since they're all squashed and chewing is not necessary, I thought this would work. (At one point I even considered giving myself vegetables shots as in injections, if such thing exists)

I bought six bottles from La Juiceria, one mylk, one beetroot (is beetroot a vegetable? or is it a fruit?), two vegetable juices and two fruit juices. I gulped the Chocolate Almond mylk during one of my late nights (seriously, susah ada boyfriend who is like 13 hours behind you okay!) and then another fruit juice this morning as "breakfast" (as if such term exists for me on weekends) and my first veggie juice after dinner. So far, I must say, it's not as bad as I expected it to be.

I DIDN'T MAKE WEIRD FACES AS I DRINK IT!

Unlike that time when I drank "what evil tastes like" a.k.a lemon, orange and lime juice.

So yes, guys, if you're like me who hates veggie but feel guilty about not consuming it, give vegetable drink a try okay! I recommend it!

xx,
A.

WM

I've been having strong Italian food craving for awhile now, in fact one morning I woke up, it was barely 8AM and I was already craving for a bowl of carbonara...

So I was determined that this weekend I shall get my craving settled.

Saturday morning I woke up with a grumbling stomach and I texted Min asking if she's showered. Obviously woman said no and took her another hour to shower and get ready, seriously no such thing as "Min I'm outside your house let's go eat" kind of outing with this girl.

By noon we reached BV and had brunch at Wondermama.

WM Pasta A La Carbonara.

So good guys, SO good! The carbonara comes with marmite chicken (& cucumber that I quickly removed and passed to Min) on top.

Oh & remember to ask for extra pedas then ask for more cili flakes okay (sorry, tekak Melayu)

SO GOOD!

The selfies we took before the food came.

Min said I look glowy & tanned and my instant reaction was "Tan was probably Bali, I knew it I should've applied sun block even though I wasn't at the beach... Glowy, it's Benefit's High Beam".
Best highlighter EVER! Just apply it above your eyebrows, on your cheek bone and at the centre of your nose, top it off with loose powder (so you don't look too shiny) and you're ready to go! You're welcome.

We did a brief window shopping and then we both headed home.

Found this dress at ZARA & I was contemplating if I wanted to get it for workwear or not.  I call it my Tuesday Addams look, because it's the slightly less grim version of Wednesday Addams' clothes.

I think it shall be a yes (based on the response I gathered from Instagram) ehehehe! x)

Zoe, Min & I all have DW watches and sometimes we'd go out and all 3 of us are wearing the same watch (Min & Zoe would normally be wearing the same strap, I should seriously start wearing my Sheffield strap..) and we never took a picture, so this time we did and next time we will take one when Zoe's back. #missyouZoe!

Me Time

It's 4.20PM, in 7 more hours & 40 minutes it'll be a Tuesday, and work begins again *cries bucket*. Don't get me wrong, I do not hate working, I do however appreciate not having to wake up at crack of dawn and staying all the way up all the way til it's night time and repeat the entire process for the next 5 days :(

So yes, when the weekend comes, I am the happiest person out there. Like seriously, most happy!

Weekends are now known as "Me-Time". It's normally things I like to do once a month, where for no reason at all I'll go for a hair wash & blow, get waxed, get a facial done, get a manicure, or even just go indulge in my favourite food (or shopping :p). Whatever I feel like doing for myself you know.

After 53.5 hours of work (on average of 10.7 hours of work per day) last week, I desperately needed to be pampered.

Pink milkshake for the kid in me, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" just because I've not been reading it since I last blogged about it (whaaaat, work started to picked up once I finally got my laptop..), and my second (maybe third) favourite pasta in KL.

Yasmin crashed my Me-Time because like me, my friends are clingy too.. "Bay! What are you doing this weekend? I feel like I've not seen you or talk to you for so long dah :(" Her "so long" is actually just a week.. Lol. #clingy4evs

I also had a hair wash and manicure appointment scheduled.

After I was done, I got home and got dragged all the way to Shah Alam by my parents. Where I bought 2 iPhone 5S phone covers eventhough I do not have an iPhone 5S.. It's for motivation! Now I have to get it :p

Next week: Time to do my eyebrow and get a facial. 3 weeks after that, a Thai massage and hair treatment in Bali please! ;)

22 Take Two!

I need to get this sleeping pattern fixed -.-

Anyways, as last mentioned, I turned 22 last week! I am 3 years away from 25, and I get very sensitive now if people tanya bila nak kahwin okay! As a child I'd always say "Ohh, bila I'm 25 lah kot".. And now... *gulp* I'm ooooooollllldddddddd! :'(

Last week I had a small dinner with few of my closest friends (which I promise I'll blog about soon!) and honestly, that's all I thought I'd be doing for my birthday. I initially wanted to do a doa selamat & solat hajat with my family & relatives but I forgot to mention my niat to my parents and when I remembered it was already Saturday night, ehehehe. So hopefully we'll get around to that this weekend, insyAllah.

That's just how I like to spend my birthday ideally actually. With family & friends. I think everybody closest to me knows that & I think that's why they make an effort to show up for my birthday dinner, thank you! Saaaaaayang korang!

What I was not expecting was getting surprised though for my 22nd birthday!

See, I've had 22nd birthdays, provided I can't remember quite majority of it (seriously not the type of family that does something grand for birthdays) but I know I've not been successfully surprised by anyone for my birthday in my entire 22 years of living! I can't say people never tried, ohh they have (once I find out about my surprise, I try to surprise them back normally :p), so I can't say nobody has ever loved me that much to surprise me... So I guess I'm just difficult to surprise or I'm the sneakiest amongst my friends that they can't out-sneak me... I don't know.. But yeah, basically once I turned 20, I stopped hoping/wishing/expecting a surprise dah for my birthday.

But my surprise was not the entire event they planned out for me though, my surprise was something totally unexpected! (Well duh! Nama pun surprise -.-).

Here's how the story goes:

So I'm a clingy friend, naturally I'm a clingy girlfriend too. Alhamdulillah, my boyfriend is just as clingy. So seeing each other on a daily basis isn't something weird for us (not seeing each other in a day feels weird for us..). But what was weird was how adamant Zawir was about taking me out for buka today and making sure I do not get back home in time for terawih..

Yesterday: "Well, you don't have to ikut today. We're going out tomorrow pun, itu confirm, mesti!" - Him.

Urr okay.. Clingy boy, let it be lah..

Today:
Him: Hrmm after buka we terus balik lah? We can just chill at your place, I don't wanna balik so lambat anyways..

Me: Broooooo (we bro each other whenever we think the other one is being stupid or lame), kalau balik lepas buka baik I terus pergi terawih kan?

Him: I send you home around 9 lah. Then dah masuk Isya' sure you tak sempat go terawih..

Tadi nak balik awal sangat... Oh wells.

Anyways, I thought of surprising him with one of his favourite dessert but then I got too lazy to drive myself to Bangsar alone so I just told him about it.
Him: Uuuuuu! Pavlova! Okay, I pick you up after work then we terus go Bangsar lah, then we chill dulu, jalan-jalan then we go buka k?

Me: Why don't we just go Bangsar after buka? Then you can eat terus than just simpan dulu?

Him: Alaaa, dowanlahh, we go Bangsar before k! I nak basuh kereta also anyways..

Me: Why don't we do ALL that AFTER buka? You nak balik by 9, sempat whaaaaat..

Him: Alaaaa, dowanlahhh.

Okaylah fine, he is quite impatient..

So after he picked me up and we saw the traffic,
Him: OMG! Jam diaa....... Tak jadi lah go Bangsar!

Me: We can go later? Later sure dah clear traffic.

Him: Taknak lahhh. I lazy.

Pulakkkk. Tadi nak sangat pergi -.-'
Me: I can drive kalau you penat?

Him: No lah, it's okay. I'll drive.

Me: We can go now, I'll drive.

Him: The traffic is so bad! What difference does it make if you drive?

Me: Urr, I'm more patient and you'll get stressed nanti in jam & you can't smoke.. Plus you penat, so you can sleep first?

Him: No lahhh, it's okayyyyyy. We can go Alexis another day :)

Me: But you said you wanna wash you car?

Him: Another day pun boleh, it's fine!

This is very unusual okay guys! This is the kind of guy that if he says on Saturday we are going out to go and get new pants for him, we HAVE to go out on Saturday to get pants for him.

At the DVD store,
Me: Uuuuuu! Meet The Millers! Have you watched it?

Him: Nope. Wanna watch together later?

Me: Okay! Your house?

Him: No lahh, you house lah.

Again weird. He always prefers being at his house more than mine.
Me: Alaaa, but then I have to move my laptop up and downnnnn.

Him: Nevermind lah, another day lahh. Tak sempat nanti.

Me: Heh? Tak sempat for what?

Him: .. Nanti lambat I lazy send you home...

Dude, you gotta send me home no matter what.. But fine, drop it. Do not agitate the hungry boy.

So we went to the restaurant, sat down and ordered our food and waited for buka.

While waiting I decided that we should put our phones aside and enforce the "Whoever touches the phone first, pays". And I swear, I love this rule! Not only does it gives people the chance to stop being anti-social, but it also helped me answer the question as to why Zawir was being so. weird! Seriously, this mamat had all the time lepas buka to do whatever errands you wanna do and yet he didn't want to and insist on settling them before buka and then in the end tak jugak settle them because of traffic (which I'm sure he expected it..). WEIRD!

Anyways, peopurr (including you 4 masterminds reading this..), after we were done eating & when I passed back his phone to him, I saw this group chats notifications coming in; "Tuesdays" from  Yasmin Shahira, Zayana Mahira & Zoe Chia. Ibarat pepatah melayu, dah terang lagi bersuluh, sah sah they're discussing something about me!
Me: Banyaknyer messages youuuuu

Him: *grabs phone quickly away from me*

But anyways, damage was done. I saw they mentioned something about coming about 8.30PM like that :p Nice try peeps!

After that I didn't make any noise about "We must balik now tak sempat nak do anything else dah must must must get you home early but not too early til you go terawih" and just went with it quietly. About 8.45PM we reached home. Barely even sat for like 5 minutes, and then suddenly he said he needs to get something that he left in the car..

Him: Alamak! I left something in the car, I need to get it.

Me: Haaaaa... K lah, you go bukak pintu sendiri lah.. Use the small gate.

Him: Alaaaa, you ikut lah!

Me: I lazyyyyy!

Him: I clingy!

Yeeerrrrlaaaaaaaaatuuuuuhhhhhh..

And as expected, the next thing I heard was "SURPRISE" as I open the door & see people & Minions (on balloons) walking towards me. IMG_2540

My instant reaction was:

Me: Ngaww.. WHYYYYYYYYYY?

Like seriously, it wasn't like they didn't attend the dinner last week.. WHY?!

Zawir: Because Zayana bengang I got you an ice cream cake last week, and she already got you a cake.

Zayana: YEAH! I was like "reallyyyyy.. Dah lah ice cream cake, her favourite type of cake -.-", I can't let him win!

#masalah -.- #butsokaytheybothclingyofme

But yeah as you can tell, this wasn't the surprise. The surprise was this:

[embed]http://instagram.com/p/qMxTVRRDu_/[/embed]

I SWEAR THIS WAS LIKE SO AWESOME I WANTED TO FRAMED IT UP IF I COULD! Actually, I'm still wondering how do I frame the icings up! So much effort! & NO! It's not the same as printing the photos and frame it up myself -___-'

Tak pe lah, I'll guess I'll just frame up the photo of this cake, ahhh loveeeee!

Red Velvet Cheesecake with Oreo

Okay, so there's this Insta Cake Shop called The Kitchen Guardian, and I recently decided to follow them despite being aware of them for quite awhile. Their moist chocolate cupcake is uhmaaaaazing. So is their banana cupcake, but moist chocolate cupcake first! Anyways, following them wasn't such a bright idea because then I keep seeing all these beautiful cakes and I just wanna eat them! (Mind you, I'm not exactly a sweet tooth person)

And then they have macaroons tooooo, ohh my sweet tooth cravings!

Coincidently Kookie has also been bugging me about cakes, so I said okaylah, I'll bake a cake this weekend.

& bake a cake I did!

Speaking of which, wishing all Muslims reading this a happy & blessed Ramadhan :) May we all become better Muslims by the end of this holy month, insyAllah.

With that I would also like to sincerely apologise to anybody reading this who have been hurt by me in one way or another in the past. I may have done it on purpose or not, but I now seek your forgiveness in this holy month. xx

Kicap Cap Udang

Because it's exams period, I no longer cook elaborate dishes. At one point all I had was tom yam noodles every other day and maggi. Safe to say by the end of that week I had a mild fever -_-'
Pisang: I think you ate too much tom yam. That's why your body is all heat-y inside.

So I stayed away from tom yam for awhile.. Also partly because my noodles dah habis..

You'd think tomyam noodles are hard to make. Noooope. Tom yam paste, water, kaffir lime leaves, whatever protein you wanna put in, fish oil, chilli, salt & sugar (if necessary & according to taste), and bring everything to boil then put in your noodles and leave it to boil for another 10-15 minutes (depending on the type of noodles). Simple! And much healthier than your 5 minutes maggi!

Screen Shot 2014-05-29 at 17.16.50

So yeah, this is as "elaborate" as I get in terms of my meals for this exams period. If not I'm maggi or take-out dependent. Which the former makes my Mum nag, "Tak elok lah makan maggi banyak sangat!" & the latter drains my money out like water because I'm the kind of person who can't eat the same meal for lunch and dinner, so yeah.. Go figure..

Today I decided to eat something else for a change. So I took out my chicken dippers from the freezer, popped them up into the oven. Then I thought of what to have with them. Pasta? Cannot, no sauce. Noodles? Tom yam noodles do not go with nuggets! Mee goreng? Malas lah nak masak.. Hrmmm, okay lah, nasi jer lah and kicap.

So I did exactly that! Along with one telur goreng.

And you know what guys, you can have all the gourmet meals and international cuisine and whatever but for me, nothing beats telur goreng, kicap, and nasi.

Best. Dish. Ever!

(Though this is coming from a girl who spent her entire childhood eating only that and refusing to eat anything else w/o kicap on it til her own grandmother had to tell her that all her organs inside will turn black and then she'll be dark skinned to make her stop eating kicap so much, so you know, she might be biased.. Might..)

Despicable Us

Since Ash's Taste Card expired, our half-priced Sushi Date Night also was discontinued. But being the true Asians that we are, and considering we're students hence bounded by the "student living" rules, we found a new way to get back half-priced sushi!

So Sushi Date Night was back in full-swing last Thursday night, whooopie! I was so excited for my prawn katsu kare :3 I had the order all memorised in my head. EXCEPT! We have been away THAT long (padahal it has only been 3-4 months?) that they not only removed the ebi katsu from the menu, they also increased their price!

"Maybe you were the only person who ever orders the prawn katsu and since you stopped coming here, they discontinued it!"

Well then continue it back! >( I wasn't in the mood to make a special request that night, so I settled for prawn tempura and salmon teriyaki with a side of inari.

Processed with VSCOcam with s3 preset

I swear I underestimate the power of salmon all the time. I keep forgetting just how filing a fillet portion of salmon can be. I had to eat my inari really slowly because I was already full with the salmon & the tempura. But it was good food nevertheless; the tempura wasn't as amazing as the prawn katsu would've been, but the salmon was the saving grace.

While waiting for Ash's dessert (her typical black sesame ice cream. As Banana puts it, we really are creatures of habit, because our orders are always so standard..) we decided to take photos to remember "The Return of Sushi Date Night" by.

IMG_0675

Photo of the night! Hahahahahaha!

See, we play this game called "The Friend Ping Pong" game where whenever one of us says/does anything stupid, she'll basically get toss around between the other two. For example, if A does anything stupid, B can say to C "you're friend!" making C responsible in dealing with A from there onwards. C can also do it to B, if C beats B to it. The game resets itself the next time someone says anything stupid.

Most of the time Ash is always Banana's friend because I'm really good at this game. Muahahaha. And Ash is normally the "ping pong ball" because well, she's Ashley :p

I love you Ash, I do, but no you're still Zayana's friend. :p

So before she beats me to it, SHE'S YOUR FRIEND BANANA. YOUR FRIEND. HA.

Okay, moving on with the night..

Before we left the hours Ash said we should "dress up", again to remember the night by. 15 minutes later, we came out from our rooms looking like this:

Instantaneously with my yellow shirt & blue jeans combo, I looked like a Minion. And then it hit us, we were this:

Oh My Dior! :(

Guys, this is why you DO NOT wear Dior when you're cooking..

BgsM8CWIcAAN2GR

Shrimpy: What happened to your shirt?

Me: Battle scars..

Shrimpy: From what? Your sambal?

Me: ... I would love to tell you it's from that.. But no. Something more amateur level of cooking..

Shrimpy: What?

Me: .. Maggi Tom Yam..... 0x)

Shrimpy: WHAT?! MAGGI?! Something you were probably born out of the womb making it?!

So yeah, there you go guys.. I accidentally splashed myself with maggi tom yam's oil while making it yesterday for dinner. Butttttt to be fair, I was in a lot of pain okay! Couldn't even stand up straight without wanting to curl up back into a ball straight after standing up..

On a sideeeeee note, I managed to make myself some sambal tumis today without splashing myself one bit. And no oil splattered on me while I was frying my keropok either! I'm not so much of a bimbo cook okay future MIL. I prooooomise!

Be Better, Feel Better.

How to feel better & be a better person.

  1. If you like someone, wait.

  2. Give lots of compliments, even if you’re shy. Everyone else is too.

  3. Change. Get a haircut, try new perfume, get new sheets. Become better than you were before.

  4. Eat healthier. Learn to cook something fancy.

  5. Get up earlier and watch the sun come up.

  6. Wear soft clothes, take a bath, drink something warm.

  7. Meet someone new, even just a friend.

  8. Become closer with your friends and your family. Call your mother. Cry with your best friend. Tell everyone how much you appreciate them.

  9. Keep your room clean. Buy some candles. Let the natural light in.

  10. Make a list of reasons why you’ll be better off without them. Believe they are true, because they are.

  11. Listen to new music.

  12. Write everything you’re thinking and feeling. Write letters. Write happy letters, sad letters, and angry letters, even if you’re never going to send them.

  13. It’s okay to be sad, but not forever. Sadness is not as beautiful as music makes it seem. Lack of sleep makes your eyes droopy, not deep. Wake up every morning and tell yourself you’re going to have a good day.

  14. Go to the library. Don’t forget to look in the music section.

  15. Remove them from your life. Get rid of the things they gave you if they make you sad. They’re not worth it. You will never be happy if you continue to hold on to the things that make you sad.

  16. Make new memories.

  17. Try to find something to appreciate in everything you do or experience.

  18. Being alone is okay, you don’t have to surround yourself with people.

  19. Become your own best friend. Buy yourself coffee and drink it alone in a cafe. Take your time.

  20. Learn to love every bit of yourself.

Found this list on Tumblr, & I think it's a good list. It doesn't sound so impossible. Baby steps to at least making you feel better if not helps you become a better person. Bolded some of the things I need to improve on. Such as letting sunlight enter my room. I think it's time my "cave" stop becoming my "cave", afterall the days are slowly getting longer now :) YES TO THE END OF WINTER!

As for learning to cook something fancy, I made a vow to start cooking more this year. Afterall it IS my last year studying abroad and God knows I never cook when I'm home.. So when else am I gonna test my powers in the kitchen kan? And truth to be told, I don't think I'm a bad cook, Brahim packets aside.. I swear they hate me.. My cooking for the last few days:

Well, I've only been back from Paris less than a week okay! (Obviously this new resolution of mine to become a domestic goddess is a new one.. :p)

I am also becoming less clingy, ask Banana (she's the clingy one now..)! I spend less time now in her room. Ask Zoe too! I've been ignoring her for days to a point where she messaged me today: "Why don't you want to talk to me anymoreeeee? :(". I swear, my friends are so clingy! :p

As for change... Getting new bedsheets.. Well, can I get new clothes instead? :D No? Okay, bye... :(

Play-Dough

In the spirit of the Lunar New Year, Ash & Farmie decided to make pineapple tarts yesterday. In the spirit of procrastinating from folding my bags (3, to be precise..) of laundry, I decided to menyibuk in the kitchen. I came in at the right time too! They were in the process of folding the jam into the dough, puuurfect opportunity to play with dough!

Me: CAN I PLAAAAAAAAAAY?! :D

F: No Sya! -____-' This is not a toy!

Well hello Ms. Partypooper.. Not long after she said that, they discovered that they may have too much dough and not enough jam. (Also, I made my cute sulking face which has always worked for me for the first 7 years of my life or so & now works occasionally)

M: YAYYYY! This is gonna be so fun! :D Now.. What should I make.. Hrmmmmmm..... *the light bulb in my head lights up* :D

*2 minutes later*

F: .. You're looking way too happy doing this..

M: When I was a kid, I always play with play-doh but I can never eat whatever I make with it.. Nooooow, I can! :D

A: ... Sya! This is not play-doh!

M: Play-doh, playing with dough, sameee thing!

F: So is this like your childhood dream or something?

M: YES! :D

Come on.. Don't tell me you didn't have similar dreams! What WERE your priorities as a kid man if you didn't!?!

Soooo, what shape did I make you ask? Well...

LE TADAAAA!

I remember as a child Kookie would teach me how to make currypuff-shaped playdoh & she would always laugh at how ugly my currypuff (I'm just gonna call it karipap, it has a cuter spelling) turned out, especially the sides. ALL. THE. TIME! She said "Langsung takde rupa karipap", and I said I'll perfect it.. Well, 10-15 years later, tadaaaa! Okay, fine, the sides are still not perfect, but at least it looks like a karipap no? ^.^

Maybe the fact it's not made out of blue play-doh helped the appearance a bit..

OH OH OH GUYS WANNA HEAR A PINEAPPLE JOKE?!

"If you were a fruit, you'd be a fineapple"

Hehehehe, okay see ya next week peeps!

Domestic Goddess (or not).

I admit, I haven't been cooking. In my second year of studies I would say I was quite rajin to try out recipes and make proper Malay dishes (I need my belacan intake once in awhile okay!). But come third year, I just couldn't be bothered. My excuse was, "We don't have chilli!", which is a legit (legit is a word Banana!) excuse because what is Malay dishes without chilli?!

But now that I need to be saving my money for all my wants for 2014, I can't afford to eat out so much so back to the kitchen Aisya goes.. Again, there wasn't any chilli in the kitchen, but there was chicken and a pack of Brahim's Ayam Masak Cili Api.. "Just add water & chicken!" it says.. Added chicken and water Aisya did... And it turned out like yellow soup! -_______- Thankfully the spices Daddy bought for me since September was still in abundance so I added in more kunyit and a little bit of kurma spices (I was desperate okay! There wasn't even onions for me to add in!) to thicken the "soup". Turned out edible so phew! (Plus I did not give Banana food poisoning a day before our paper, so double phew!)
Me: "Add water & chicken".. Even that I can't do it right! -__-'

Ash & Banana: Well you did add in like what, 5 cubes of chicken and that's all? It's not your fault, we just didn't have enough ingredients!

They were so sweet trying to make me feel less like a loser really.

So yesterday after my second paper, we decided to go out and get groceries/essential needs. Also it was a great excuse to procrastinate and soak up the English weather, literally.. It was raining and then suddenly so sunny.. Nothing like the English weather really!

How to Take Photo with the Grocery-Bags-Stealer 101. I swear, the weirdo just came up to me suddenly and started taking the bags off my hand.. I was like, "Whaaaaaat are you doing? o.O I can carry them myself, thank you very much.."

Processed with VSCOcam with g1 preset

Yes, for Ash, Primark stuff are "essential needs".. #notjudgingatall #whoarewekidding #sheboughtbikinis #totallyjudging :p

After walking all around city centre for about an hour or two, we still needed a few more stuff from Tesco but since Banana & I needed to pray we decided to go home and put down the stuff we've got first. After that it was too warm and we got too lazy to go out, so we decided to get our Tesco stuff delivered instead. It's fuhreeezing outside okay! We walked around the city for that long with ice cream in our shopping bag, we got home, it was still frozen! As Banana said, "It's time to start wearing two layers of gloves again". Damn right she is! I was already wearing two layers of socks and two layers of sweater/jacket.

Right anyways, back to our Tesco story.. Our "few more stuff" totalled up to 66 items in the shopping basket :p It's winter, bears hibernate, well so do we. At least now we can cook and we'll have enough ingredients, insyAllah.

But if all else fails, we always have these:

Banana & I punya bag of chips. Oh yeah, and the container on top of the Aldo box & in the Aldo box itself is full of more "Just add chicken and water" Brahim/Adabi/Alif instant dishes packets.

Our ice-cream drawer in the freezer. What flavour do you want? We've got lychee, black sesame, green tea, mint, vanilla and cookies & cream.

And Banana's pride and joy,

Makan Hati

A lot of people have been asking me "Why are you so skinny?!", and I do mean A LOT. Basically almost everyone I meet says the same thing the first time they see me and I really, really wish they'd stop asking. I am going to address this issue once and for all and then if anyone else asks me I'm just gonna revert back to my standard answer of "I don't know lah, maybe because a lot of people keep saying I'm so skinny now that it has become more like a doa/prayer for me instead of a question".

Ladies and gentlemen, this is why I am so skinny now, this is how my standard meal looks like:

IMG_9090

"How on Earth is that even a meal?!"

"You've shamed me, it's like I thought you nothing! -.-"

".... I disown your skinny ass. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"

Those were all the comments I got when people saw my "lunch".

...

.....

.......

.........

IMG_9099

"This is not chicken sausageS. This is chicken sausage cut into half -.- Now, what do I eat after this.... Hrmmmmmmmmmmmm"

Hehehe chillax people! That was my pre-lunch meal. I was at Plan B and I knew I wanted the Butterscotch milkshake and normally I'd have their soft-shell crab pasta but since I'm having a milkshake, a creamy pasta would just make me feel nausea and I won't end up finishing any of it. So I decided to have that and then got myself some good loving Prosperity Burger from McDonalds, daaaaaaaaaaaaaaap (^.^)

Okay, jokes aside back to the serious question.

Why am I so skinny? Do I still eat?

Yes, I DO eat okay people! You all can see my Instagram posts at the sidebar, I have good, nice meals. However I admit, I don't eat a standard 3 meals a day.

How often do I eat?

I make sure I at least have one proper meal a day (this is when I'm at the peak of my sadness), but if I'm feeling relatively okay I have about 2 meals and a few round of snacks a day.

WHY am I not eating properly?

The million dollar question. Simple (as I said up there), because I am currently upset. I won't use the word depressed because that is an actual disease and it should not be used so lightly.

I don't know about some of you guys *cough Cik Pisang cough* but I do know some people do share my feeling (the whole I'm upset so I don't really have an appetite thing), so I don't think I'm abnormal or unreasonable. These things DO happen.

So there, now you know. I refuse to tell people this in proper conversation because I want to save the awkward silence that will follow. Can you imagine me telling that to my relatives or my friends' parents? #awkwardturtle. So hence why I have a standard no-answer answer. In no means do I mean to offend you with my no-answer answer or I was trying to be sarcastic, sorry guys if you feel that way!

Now that you guys know, please don't think I aspect sympathy or anything, that's the last thing I want to see, the look of sadness in people's eyes when they see me. I cry okay every time someone look at me like that and then say what I know they're thinking "You're not living anymore Aisya..". So please, no sympathy looks. I seriously can just cry anywhere (one day maybe I should compile a list of places I've cried at before, that might be a laugh) and I'm sure you won't want that to happen when you're out in public with me :p

I am okay guys. Yes I am upset, but I am okay. I have people constantly worrying about my well-being, I have people taking care of me when I'm unable to take care of myself (hence the contract with Cik Pisang), I am fine. Just a little bit upset, I will heal in time.. InsyAllah.

Also for those who truly cares, you guys can take comfort in knowing that I am not underweight. The last I checked my weight was 43kg, and my height is about 153cm. Calculate that and you'll see that my BMI is about 18.8. That's in the normal weight range.

In no way am I anorexic and I really do feel people should not ever joke about this. I do not starve myself. If my stomach is grumbling, I will open the fridge and find something to eat. I don't ever and will never support the notion of not eating to become skinny. I love my food, I never say no to when people ask me out to go makan, hect I'll drink hot tea if I have to just so I can eat my favourite char kuey teow after having a portion of banana leaf 30 minutes ago.. I just sometimes do not have an appetite. So girls (and maybe guys), please do not starve yourself okay, if your tummy is grumbling loudly, sampai even your friends can hear it, please, go and have something to eat. You sure as hell won't be happy when you no longer fit into your jeans and you have to spend a lot on altering all your clothes..

It was also never my aim to become my size right now, seriously guys, it is so menyusahkan when you don't fit into your clothes! I have my minimum weight mark (42kg; I've never been any lower since I was 17) where if I hit it, I know I will have to force feed myself to get my weight back up. So people stop telling me to stop losing weight, I really do try not to! I do not like it when people point out the way I look now. In no way do I feel flattered because I didn't work my ass off in the gym to get to this size and therefore getting to my size is not an achievement. If you guys are telling me you're jealous of how I look, I don't get flattered. I get sad, because all I think about is "So... You wanna be so emotionally upset to a point that it physically shows..?" and honestly I would never wish that upon anyone.

I appreciate your concerns and I do love you people for caring. But please, stop asking or pointing it out. Because every time someone does ask me about it, the first thought that goes in my head is "Well, I've been moping" and I'll be reminded of everything I try everyday to forget about. And again, the sympathy looks. It makes me sad!

K: Ayong tak nak makan ker? Dah dah lah tuh makan hati (sulking)..

M: Kita dah makan "hati" (liver) dah makan lah tuh :p

K: Ohhh dah makan hati eh.. Okay esok Kokoy masakkan hati (liver) Ayong makan k?

(I NEVER eat liver guys)

--

K: YAY! Ayong dah start makan, dah tak makan hati (sulking) dah!

M: Kita memang tak makan hati (liver) pun.. Kookie, nih lauk apa?

K: Hati (liver) masak kicap.. Nak?

M: ... Tak pe lah. Kookie enjoy lah pulak makan hati eh..
