Return of The Princess (Poopyhead)

Hellooooooooooo - I am back!
I was supposed to take some time off to clear my blog (because seriously who needs to be reading the musings of a 15 y/o when you're 25..) and one thing led to another, suddenly I do not know what happened to my 2017! It just flew by so fast and the next thing I knew, I was on a plane ready to usher in the new year with (one of) my bestfriend(s) in a (not so) foreign country!

Which actually is the reason why I decided to blog again - solely because I want to document the trip somewhere and well it is >2 months since the trip ended but I will try my best to recall everything as if it happened yesterday..

But as that would require quite sometime to finish (still haven't truly decided on how to best write it down really) - so I shall leave my 2017 highlights here as a "catch-up" :)

Went to London with Mummy end-Jan as some aspects of #kulilife is beyond my credit limit..

Two Zero One Seven

It is 2017! It is so crazy!!

I don't even remember what I did to welcome 2016 - but that picture above is literally me welcoming 2017.

I have never been a "party girl" (contrary to popular first impression of me) so obviously I spent it indoors, with my pyjamas and big fluffy comforter. At one point I was watching Angels & Demons (I now feel like I wanna re-visit Rome) and The Force Awakens (I swear I had a theory regarding who could Rey be, but I can't recall it now and it's been bugging me since this morning. Urgh!).

After 12AM the movies got boring (I guess they expected people to be asleep/ out partying by then) so I resorted to playing the Avengers in the background as I "walked" my PokemonGo (I love it when the GPS goes haywired when you're in a building and the wifi isn't on!) and ate mee goreng mamak.

I also planned to finish at least a couple of my posts that are currently in Drafts (I have 6 apparently! x.x) but with the TV, PokemonGo and food, I got distracted and only managed to finish one, hehe. But I still have one more day before my "holiday" is over (boo!!) - so let's hope I become a bit more productive.

But all in all I was rather happy with my New Year's Eve, doing something that I feel like represents the complete hermit that I am. I mean I was well fed and I caught like so many Charmanders, I can almost have my "Syarizard" :D Also the hectic two-three days, it was nice to just be able to chill and do stuff without rush.

So here's to hoping that my 2017 will be as calm and fulfilling (at least emotionally and spiritually) as my NYE. Aminnn!

After a trying 2016 (don't you feel like 2016 was a tough year just in general and world wide?!), may 2017 brings us all lots of happiness, rezeki and peace. InsyaAllah.

Have a great year everyone!

xx, A.

Keep Calm & Write It Down

About a couple of weeks before 2015 ended, I had dinner with Raema and Zayana. As we were catching up with each other's lives, I found myself in a situation where I got the timeline of all these events messed up..

Me: No way, the first time I heard about it being official was after my birthday celebration.
Them: No... It was before!
Me: I swear it was after!!! Cause it was at Haagen Dazs
Them: And Haagen Dazs was in July, before your birthday.
Me: Cannot be, Haagen Dazs was in October!

We never found out when Haagen Dazs happened, but two against one, so my timeline is wrong.

Me: Well, I hardly blog these days! Even when I do, they're mostly throwback posts, so don't blame me my timeline are all wrong..

I know how pompous I sound saying that, but it is how I track when is what. I (used to) blog right after things happened, and use the date of the posts as reference of when these things happen. One time I was having a conversation with a colleague about wedding updo and she asked if I had a picture of my hairstylist's work for my hair updo, instantly my brain know to search for December 2013 posts so I can find the picture as I did not have them in my phone.

Like I said, my blog is a personal online diary.

Seeing how the new year just kicked in and after 2 weeks break, I just feel like work is gonna hit me so hard that I won't have time to do anything else but catch up on sleep. Hehe, I may over react, but that's what I am expecting for at least another couple of months. Therefore I decided to go old school; I got myself a hardcopy personal "journal".

It is actually the Duck planner.

See, at work I have this To-Do list notepad for me to write down all my To-Dos for each day; it gives me great pleasure when I tick it all off and if I don't, I'll have to carry forward it to the next day and repeat! At work, you also write "notes" when you go for meeting; sometimes you use it for the minutes you're supposed to write, others it's really just for your future reference. This way whenever your boss asks you stuff that happened at a meeting from a week ago, you just have to go to the date and it should be there (if you wrote it down). Even while I was studying I used to take time and make my own personal notes even though I wasted a lot of cartridges printing the lecturer's notes, because writing has always helped me to memorise.

So yeah, from now on, I shall write the highlights of my day in the journal (I refuse to call it a planner, cause it's more of a recap tool than a planning tool) and should I find the time to update my blog, I can always refer back to these "notes" ;)

Also, if you're wondering why am I not using it as a planning tool, especially for balancing work and personal meetings.. Well there's always Outlook calendar and also my Secret Santa from office has gotten me  planner with "Keep Calm & Write It Down" on the cover.. He or she knows me so well!

Here's to a more productive (and organised) 2016!

Happy new year everybody!!

x, A.

7 Years

Here's the thing - every time I sign in my Blogger, I'll be greeted with not one, but several blogs on my dashboards, and they are all mine. Hehheh *insert sweat-face-smiling emoji*. That's what happens ladies and gentlemen when you have been blogging for years and jump platform (Xanga, Blogpost, Tumblr, Wordpress) every few years. Out of all my years of blogging, Blogspot has been the frequently used one, given the number of times I've returned to it and started a new blog, hehheh *insert sweat-face-smiling emoji again*

So as I was about to update my blog recently, I thought about why I have so many blogs and how I don't have the heart to delete them as they're basically my diary (I think my last personal diary entry was like Form 1, at the latest). Did you know one of my favourite past time is to actually read the old posts?

Suddenly I had a light bulb moment - why do I need to keep them in separate blogs when I can actually just import them into this blog!?!

*ding ding ding, Aisya has finally got the point ladies and gentlemen, few years too late..*

I thought,

Hesitant-Aisya: Maybe you didn't keep it in one place because you didn't want anybody else to read it
YOLO-Aisya: If you didn't want anybody to know (read it) you wouldn't post it online

Hesitant-Aisya: Do you really want people to know about your past?
YOLO-Aisya: The blogs were public at some point of your life, so there are already people who already know your past.. Plus, what "past" - you were basically a nerd (I know guys, I re-read my posts..)

Hesitant-Aisya: But your writing style is different.. It'll totally clash with how your writing style is now
YOLO-Aisya: But my personality is about the same.. Plus, people change as they grow.

And thus YOLO-Aisya won and I began exporting from the old and importing to the current. Immediately after I began texting people - mostly my friends that were frequently mentioned in my old blogs.

"I feel obligated to tell you guys this - my old blogs are being transferred to my current one. So old pictures will resurface. DO NOT SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU!"

I am a considerate friend aren't I? Hehe. And to my surprise they all actually loved the idea and were looking forward to walk down memory lane - "Thank God you blogged like crazy last time! I barely have any pictures from the past!".. Urr, you're welcome!(?)

So now you have it, 2007 - 2015. 7, almost 8, years of my life (sans 2011-2012 though, stupid me got way too emo and deleted that blog... grrr)!! I can't remember my Xanga password, or I could've included 2006 too - the year I started blogging.

Now everybody will know when I say I was very, very dark in high school (under high-school drama label).. I don't mean like I was a gothic/emo-punk-rock kid, I meant like my skin was actually darker, think 3 shades darker.

p/s: While writing this post, I just had another revelation - Did I really have the same email address since 2007? O.O I thought I had it while I was in college, hahaha. Because I remember using the other email with the word "glam" and "barbie" throughout highschool.... *insert blush emoji*

2 years!

Apparently I missed my blog's birthday guys! This is what happens when your own blog no longer tells you that it is its birthday.. #minusoneforblogspot

Anyways, I remember telling myself that once my blog hits two years old, I will upgrade itself to a .com so it'll be like me having my own website :D Buuuut considering that I forgot about that and the fact that it might me confusing for some as my first post is in August.. I guess I'll just wait til August then to give my other baby (I have so many "babies") an upgrade :)

Right, so what have changed for this blog in the past year?

Well the obvious one is of course, it is no longer hosted by Wordpress. I've explained about that here. Following that I think this blog has been given two major "face reconstruction".

How it looked like before..

Now if you wanna stalk my Instagram, go and follow me on Instagram okay :p

Other than that this blog no longer follows the journey of me and my Uni life. I've up/downgraded to blogging about my work-life and my barely-there-social-life. I am also a much less shopaholic than before (seriously, why won't anybody believe me?!) AND I don't post as much OOTDs anymore (imagine how awkward would it be to ask your colleague to take your OOTD... O.O)

Despite all these changes I know I still have few loyal readers, and for that I thank you all for sticking by my daily musings :)

Lots of love,
A.

Final Battle

Sorry guys, but I have to go on a social media(probably not Instagram, it's just so easy to "like" stuff! & Pretty pictures of food, how can I say no to?!)/blogging hiatus til June 7th 2014.

This is like the last of the final exams for me. 15 years of studies (from Primary school til now) and it all comes down to this last stretch.. Bismillahirahmanirahim.

Wish me luck!

& Don't forget me in your prayers!!

Remember, “Whoever prays for his brother behind his back has an angel saying to him, ‘And for you the same’.”

So yeah, pray for me good things and an Angel will pray the same for you :)

Til then, xoxo.

15 March 2014

Sometimes I feel like I am a terrible blogger. Most of the time I wouldn't even call myself a "blogger" actually. I have a blog, I blog, but I'm not a "blogger". I am not dedicated enough for that title. I think I am underserving of the title. I mean, seriously, it's mid-March and I've only posted what 3 times? 4 including this..? Terrible blogger is me. I apologise.

I do try to update daily (at least). But most of the times I find myself saying "I'll update tomorrow lah" and then another "tomorrow, I promise" and before I knew it the week is almost over and I posted only once. Oops x)

Anyways, bare with me as I am currently in the midst of juggling 2 assignments due in two weeks time. Sorry guys!
