The Torture Session

This evening as I was starting my Pilates class, my Trainer (a.k.a. Fred the Torturer) said,
"Whoa, you're really into Bollywood huh?!"

Fred, you have no idea just how much into Bollywood I am..

See, I've this huge crush on Deepika since like 2013 right? About a few weeks back I saw Deepika doing her usual Pilates workout (1 point) while wearing the same sports bra that I have (1 more point for Aisya)!!!

So now I'm like 2 points similar to Deepika, I feel better about my workout clothes choices now guys. #nikealltheway

Today also I've unlocked a whole new achievements of doing 60 squats in total. Normally it's 7-10-12 reps for each set of workouts, today I did 20-20-20 guys!!! Aisya feels very good about herself, she decided to have a burger after that (hi Fred, see you next week!)

Seeing how squats didn't affect me as much (I have my off days okay), Fred decided to swap my legs/ bum work out to some "unilateral work" as he calls it and that.was.a.whole.new.level.of.torture - my butt is still feeling it eventhough Im laying down on my stomach guys!!! As I was doing the butt workout, I thought "Hrmm, I think Deepika did this kind of workout too......" (I needed a distraction in class okay!!)

So of course I went home and stalked Deepika's trainer.. Nope, completely made that "scene" up in my head :( No extra Deepika-wannabe-points for Aisya today :(

Oh well, here are some of the workouts I've done in class
(to make myself feel a lil bit more accomplished)

Some of the workouts I'm just waiting for Fred to ask me to do and that this is gonna go into my fitness "achievements"... >(

I await for the day til I get on this "bed" and that's when I'll make damn sure that Fred records me working out

Until then, I present to you, my Queen:

Endorphins Make You Happy

Remember like 15 years ago (mhmm, it has been that long) when Elle Woods said:

It is so true!!

I mean, besides the pilates I do since these past few months, I really don't exercise much. As much as I complain of the soreness that comes after, I actually like my trainer (even though I nicknamed him "The Torturer", but sometimes you just need one of those you know) and I feel more tired and my body just feels blergh when I don't go for my classes..

After the fasting month, I was like like rearing to go for Pilates or just any form of exercise really and I ended up registering for two spin classes in the car on my way to beraya for me & Cik P. #PisangandKentanggoFlying

The last time I went to a cycling class (which was years ago) I didn't really like and promised that was my first and last time (my legs were like jelly immediately after the class okay!!). So naturally after the excitement of finally being able to work out dies down, I was dreading to go for spin class this morning - and the fact that it's at 9AM on a Sunday and I got out of the house even before 8AM does not help either.

Anyways, long story short it is now 11PM and I am still pumped up guys!

My mind is so awake (despite my muscles slowly deteriorating, I can just feel it!) and I have figured out what Phase 2 of my room makeover shall be like. I have even planned out what to do tomorrow (besides work of course)! Maybe I should plan my outfit for the week too..

HAVE A "FLY" WEEK EVERYBODY! xx

Sunday Morning

I don't know why I thought a 9AM pilates class on a Sunday is a good idea.. And then I don't know why I prioritised a haircut over a massage appointment after the class..

Such encouraging friend I have..

That's me thinking, "pfft! And you thought I wouldn't survive.. Hmph!" like 30 minutes after the class

...

........

And this is also me trying to type this post out 12 hours later because I'm just too tired to move and I can feel the soreness coming.

Black Cards

Last weekend I was cleared from my house arrest and I need to go to Sephora considering my Argan Oil was victimised.. So eventhough Zawir offered to take me to Sephora (people just seriously become nicer to you when you're sick man.. Especially Zayana coming to see me, Zayana never comes to see me :p) I know I have to go to Sephora with non-other than Yasmin. I mean honestly, Zawir would have rushed me like crazy, I might just get another asthma attack out of stress, hehe I kid.

Anyways, Min took us to Mid Valley as the last Sephora trip we took (with Zoe) to Bukit Bintang was less than fruitful for me. We went there with a specific list of things in mind; for me I need to get my Argan Oil (I swear this thing is amazing! I can't use Argan Oil for my hair as it dries it out, somehow, but it works wonder for my skin!), a mascara (I just love how it looks so natural whilst enhancing your lashes!), a lipbalm that doubles as a lipstick and an eyebrow gel, and as for Yasmin she wanted to get a blusher.

Fast forward 5 hours (you read that right.. FIVE!) we came back with more than we planned for. Oops! Thank God for the exclusive 20% of for Black Card holders though..

p/s: I managed to find the lipstick at the Dior boutique in Pavilion.

Also I think I am so outdated guys in the beauty world (not that I was ever advanced in it pun..). How did I not know there's a Jo Malone in Malaysia?! I love Jo Malone's perfumes and used it every day while in UK. I remember Farmie saying even my sweater smells like "me" (the perfume) when she borrowed it.

But damn, the struggle is real when you're paying 200+ for a perfume whereas in UK you pay like GBP40. #firstworldproblems

Definitely need to make a trip back to Mid Valley one day when I'm done with my current and next perfume that my mum passed to me. Please Malaysian economy, be better so the exchange rate will decrease. Aminnnnn

Celery is not as nice as salary

Guys! I finished 67% of those juices!

Okay.. 66.7...

Fine.... 66.67......

Ish 4 out of 6 lah okay!

Still more than 50%!!! Which is more than what I expected!

Conclusion?

Celery is not as nice as salary.

And the root of all evil most probably taste like beetroot.

Yuck.

BUUUUUT I feel much livelier today! I didn't wake up wanting to cry eventhough it was Monday and I know I have a few meeting scheduled. Don't know whether it's because of the juices effect or the fact that I slept rather early (before 12AM) yesterday.. But TBF I sleep before 12 or around 12 almost every weekday. On top of that I spent the entire Sunday cleaning and re-arranging my room so if its anything, I should be even more lethargic!

So I'd definitely go again for the Carrot + Orange juice, the PAM, the veggie juice with the word "Tropical" in its name :)

You know how they say if you consume too much carrots you'll turn orange? It's not true... riiiiight?

Veggie

As promised, I'll share my 2015 resolution this weekend.

Let's just jump straight to it:

I've decided that this year will be the year I start putting vegetables in my digestive system!

Why you ask?

You see, I'm always so bloody tired these days, it's insane! I am only 22 as much as I like to pretend that I'm "old". So one day whiny ol' me was well, whining (duh) about how I'm always tired to my mother. She told me it's because I don't eat veggie so I'm malnourished. Suddenly my mother is a dietician guys! Lol

Following that, I was really determined to start eating salad (for one day, actually one meal during that one day lol). I really tried, but my throat just won't corporate! My brain was already accepting the fact that veggies/salad do look appetising, but my throat, na'uh you ain't making me swallow that hunneyh

Brainy-Me then thought the next best thing was juices! Since they're all squashed and chewing is not necessary, I thought this would work. (At one point I even considered giving myself vegetables shots as in injections, if such thing exists)

I bought six bottles from La Juiceria, one mylk, one beetroot (is beetroot a vegetable? or is it a fruit?), two vegetable juices and two fruit juices. I gulped the Chocolate Almond mylk during one of my late nights (seriously, susah ada boyfriend who is like 13 hours behind you okay!) and then another fruit juice this morning as "breakfast" (as if such term exists for me on weekends) and my first veggie juice after dinner. So far, I must say, it's not as bad as I expected it to be.

I DIDN'T MAKE WEIRD FACES AS I DRINK IT!

Unlike that time when I drank "what evil tastes like" a.k.a lemon, orange and lime juice.

So yes, guys, if you're like me who hates veggie but feel guilty about not consuming it, give vegetable drink a try okay! I recommend it!

xx,
A.

MOTD

If you're following me on Instagram, you'd know that the firm that I'm working for had their annual dinner last Friday night *queue Katy Perry's song*.

Gone are the days when you can have like an entire day to prepare yourself for "prom" (annual dinner is sorta like prom..), get yourself pampered and what not. Instead now you're lucky if you get to leave early and make it for your hair styling appointment. Some people were still getting ready at 7PM and registration started at 6.30PM.. (Not hating on my firm or anything, I totally love my firm! You work hard, you play hard, example, Bali trip!)

Because the Greek themed outfit I chose was so simple (result of last minute scrambling through whatever you have in your closet), I made it a point to do my hair and put proper make up all (from foundation to eyeshadow, eyeliner etc). Thankfully my awesome hairstylist is also an awesome MUA (because I knew there was just no chance in hell I'd have time to do my own make up).

He asked me beforehand already if it's okay to make my eyes a little heavy since my dress is plain white, and I gave him the green light. As usual when he asked what do I wanna do with my hair, all I had to do was tell him what I'm wearing and say "Up to you lah whatever you wanna do to my hair, I trust your judgement".

One day when my hair is long enough, Imma ask him to give me an Elsa braid. Judging by the texture he created for my hair here, I'm sure he can achieve the same texture as Elsa's braid.

Pay extra attention to my eyelashes.

God bless my hairstylist, he gave my fake lashes after putting tons of eyeliner on me.

I dah lah don't like eyeliners (2 reasons: 1. Removing is bloody hard I always feel like I'm going blind or a squid just squirted its ink in my eye 2. My Jawa genes gave me big eyes aleady, no need tambah and freak the hell out of people anymore) but you know, for the sake of "over"ing in my face to compensate for my dress, I let him do whatever he wants with my face.

I walked out of the salon with the lashes on to jaga his feelings, but the moment I got to my toilet, I just pulled it off. I do not need to be scaring off my colleagues!

Other than that however I love his work. A++ (as always, saaaaayang Dicksum!)

Make Up of the Day #motd

I think I look rather pleasant ^.^

Got home and had a video call with Zawir, and the first thing he said was

"Why do you have so much make up on?! Macam hantu!"

.....

First devil woman.. Then this...

Why do I love this guy again? -___-

Because he proceeded to playing Mulan and watched it together with me until I fell asleep, that's why! ^.^

The next morning afternoon I woke up and got pictures from last night..

Dang.

Zawir was not lying about that hantu part...

Me Time

It's 4.20PM, in 7 more hours & 40 minutes it'll be a Tuesday, and work begins again *cries bucket*. Don't get me wrong, I do not hate working, I do however appreciate not having to wake up at crack of dawn and staying all the way up all the way til it's night time and repeat the entire process for the next 5 days :(

So yes, when the weekend comes, I am the happiest person out there. Like seriously, most happy!

Weekends are now known as "Me-Time". It's normally things I like to do once a month, where for no reason at all I'll go for a hair wash & blow, get waxed, get a facial done, get a manicure, or even just go indulge in my favourite food (or shopping :p). Whatever I feel like doing for myself you know.

After 53.5 hours of work (on average of 10.7 hours of work per day) last week, I desperately needed to be pampered.

Pink milkshake for the kid in me, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" just because I've not been reading it since I last blogged about it (whaaaat, work started to picked up once I finally got my laptop..), and my second (maybe third) favourite pasta in KL.

Yasmin crashed my Me-Time because like me, my friends are clingy too.. "Bay! What are you doing this weekend? I feel like I've not seen you or talk to you for so long dah :(" Her "so long" is actually just a week.. Lol. #clingy4evs

I also had a hair wash and manicure appointment scheduled.

After I was done, I got home and got dragged all the way to Shah Alam by my parents. Where I bought 2 iPhone 5S phone covers eventhough I do not have an iPhone 5S.. It's for motivation! Now I have to get it :p

Next week: Time to do my eyebrow and get a facial. 3 weeks after that, a Thai massage and hair treatment in Bali please! ;)

Summer Heat

Wooh, Malaysian heat is seriously killing me. & To make things worse, I am the kind of girl who hates drinking water. Water makes me feel bloated. I can seriously burp after every sip of water okay! *excuse me*

But padanlah muka I. Now not only do I have a bruised lip (I am also the kind of girl who loves biting off the dry skin on her lips..), I am also down with fever, flu, cough & phlegm. Oh & Aunty P decided to come and join the party too -_-' Thanks.

Hence that explains the lack of OOTD shots, or shameless selfies, or food photos (on Instagram and on this blog) because, unless I have to, I don't go out.

These days when I actually DO go out (a girl's gotta eat honeyh!), I'll always have a bottle of water with me. And kalau dah habis, if I can I'd refill the water or get a new bottle of water. Also I have all kinds of lip products in my bag; Vaseline, aloe vera gel (to soothe the bruising & also for the pimples that keep popping out because of the sweat & dust combo), lipbalm, lip stick (in a few different shades; depending on the colour of the bruise on that day -.-), you name it, I probably have it! I also have all sorts of medication in my handbag.. Panadol (for normal headache and for menstruation), flu meds, allergies med, Strepsils.. I'm a walking pharmacy!

Anyways, I'm here to share some useful tips I've discovered on how to take pictures with a bruised lip!

1. Find a lip colour that matches the exact same shade of your bruise. Your life is a lot easier if you own (or have a friend who has) a collection of lipsticks in different shades. Apply it and then camwhore to your heart's content :)

2. If you're confident enough with yourself, and don't really care about the outcome of the picture (and you do not have OCD ker apa, so that you know when you see that red spot on your lip it won't bug you), you can go all natural and just NGAF.

photo 4-35photo 5-24

3. Should you not be confident enough (or you OCD is bugging you) and you do not have a lipstick available (or just too lazy to apply it), turn the side with the bruised lip away from the light and let the shadow hide it, like so:

photo 2-62

4. Or you know, you can actually do the obvious way of hiding your lips pose (also known as the "say no evil" pose):
photo 3-45

5. Camera 360. God knows what magic this app has, but somehow the lighting in the app's camera automatically hides my bruised lip... So hopefully this works for you too!

photo 1-61

Also did you know you can make your eyes bigger, your jawline sharper, your skin fairer and all sorts of editing with Camera 360? This app elevates my trust issues even more..

So there you go guys! Pesanan khidmat masyarakat to you brought by me! You're welcome :)

But seriously, in all honesty, drink up lots of water k peeps! Stay hydrated, don't bite your lips and keep a bottle of water with you wherever you go. Stay healthy! xx

Pretty/Unpretty

In the midst of procrastinating from packing (seriously, I love going home and all, but I HATE packing. Clothes should just magically fold themselves and walk straight in the bag according to my approval - a nod for "Yes, you get to come home with me" and everything else means "Nothing personal, but you get to stay here in UK". Life would be amazing! #thingsIwouldbuildifIhadthebrainsandmeansforit)

Anyways, saw this article on Facebook about "Why You Should Date A Girl Who Doesn't Need to Wear Make Up" & I thought "Okay, another list to read, let's do this!". I don't know why, I like reading lists (more than articles), whatever the content may be..

According to the article, these are the reasons why & Imma put in my two cents into it (in italics):
This is the appeal of a woman who doesn’t wear makeup:

She’s comfortable in her own skin.

Not necessarily, she might just be lazy. I mean, that's why I don't wear make up. I am lazy; to apply it, to take care of it, to remove it later on.. If it's anything I am forced to be comfortable with looking slightly less than a million bucks when I go out on a daily basis.

She accepts her imperfections.

Forced to accept if I may say so? Sure I like to hid my pimple scars, or maybe my eyebags, and my frackles too while we're at it. But hehhh, applying make-up is too much effort, so lets look like how I look waking up x)

She doesn’t need compliments or flattery to feel worthy.

Okay, I guess this is true. But you know, who would say no to compliments every now and then right?

She’s too busy to take the time to apply eyeliner.

Too busy lazy. Also, I can't apply eyeliner for shizzz.

She’s got good genes.

I got it from my Mama! (& Papa of course. xxxxx)

She’s confident in herself.

That I must admit, I am. But doesn't make a girl with face full of make-up any less confident that I am.

She’s easy to wake up next to.

Hahahahahaha! No. I've been told I look like a lioness upon waking up. *peace*

She’s not worried about her mascara fading.

No. But I do worry about it smudging and the whole process of touching up is a chore. So again, I don't bother.

She travels light.

Hahahahaha! Again. No. That term does not exist in my dictionary. I always pack like I'm moving to a new country or something.

She can go skinny dipping without looking like a raccoon when it comes time to dry off.

Urr, ever heard of waterproof make up?

She’s not always staring at herself in the mirror.

I STILL DO! With or without make-up. As long as there's a mirror, I'll turn and check myself out.. #taktaumalu

She’s accepted her least attractive version of herself.

Because God doesn't make mistakes. <<< What I tell myself to feel better.. Whatever puts me to bed at night right? Oh and who says girls w/o make are less attractive. Some are even more beautiful with less make-up/no make-up okay!

She’s never going to pretend to look like someone else.

In the past I've attempted to look like Blair Waldorf, TinkerBell and blahblahblah. It's called dressing up! Not pretending.. I'm sure those girls with make-up on aren't pretending either.

She’s not scared of what men think of her.

Men schmen. Mehh.

She doesn’t search for acceptance in anyone but herself.

No. I search for my parent's approval.

She doesn’t let her beauty define her.

...

She doesn’t get upset when she’s missing lipstick.

I do actually. Because I don't buy lipsticks often, when I buy them means I really like them.. So of course I do!

She looks her age.

Nope. People have gotten my age wrong.

She doesn’t make you guess what she really looks like.

Yes, you get what you see.

She can get caught off guard and not care.

This is more to confidence than make-up really.

She doesn’t take hours to get ready.

Yes I do. Because I like to laze around x)

She doesn’t spend her money on tubes and compacts.

I do, but they last for years so it's an investment? Hahaha

She’s not worried about smudges and smears.

Because I worry about not getting food on my shirt or face more :p

She can go to the beach and not look like a stranger.

Aisya Amin in a bikini... You'll probably do a double take (like "Nooooo that can be her! Can it? o.O"). So yeah will definitely look like a stranger :p

She finds beauty in the untouched.

And beauty in the "touched"...

She makes people feel comfortable.

Nope. I've been told I can be intimidating at times.

She’s not afraid to show you her true self.

Because I am too lazy to be afraid.

She’s not competitive with other women.

SIAPA CAKAP?! Okay actually wait. No, I'm not competitive but you know I still get intimidated that kind of thing.

She seems simple but has many layers.

Seems simple.. Doubt it :p

------

Anyways. Point is, not everyone who wears make up lacks confidence. Not everyone who doesn't wear make-up thinks they're God's gift to men, some (like me) are just down right lazy (or has no discipline for it).

Yes I agree some girls put too much make-up on, but I think that shows their dedication, to themselves at the very least, more than their lack of self-confidence. I mean seriously, do you know how long it takes to put make-up on? At least an extra 15 minutes of getting-ready time which means less 15 minutes of lazying-around time.. Plus, they're making an effort to make themselves look more presentable. And do you know how hard is it to draw on eye-liner? That is a skill by itself. Plus one appeal points for all these girls who can apply make-up. Another thing, imagine getting a girl who wears make up and when she removes it, she's just as amazing looking as with her make-up on. PLUS 1000 APPEAL POINTS PLEASE.

Also sometimes situation requires you to have some kind of make-up on. I mean going to a formal dinner and you put on a fancy dress, with a bare face.. It's the same of you showing up with jeans and t-shirt jer weih. When you wanna go big, go all the way, or you go home.

But anyways, to each their own. If they're comfortable in their own skin with make-up yay them! They're still appealing (if not to you, there will be others who thinks they are). Let's not boast about our "natural beauty" and demote these hardworking girls who wake up every morning and spend at least 15 minutes improving their appearance.

Putting on make up doesn't make you less perfect, and by not wearing make-up doesn't make you the "perfect girl to date" (as claimed by the article).. I mean come on, I don't wear make up because I'm lazy, not because I take myself too seriously & don't have time to apply make-up, not because I want to demand much more respect because I don't wear make-up. Would you like to date a lazy girl? (If yes, please send in your application to Godblessyoursoul@gmail.com)

Hearty Breakfast

As I previously mentioned, my new management school is now located 30 minutes walk away from my apartment. 30 minutes walk, UPHILL. And the last hill you have to climb its inclination is almost 45 degrees -.- Talk about butt workouts eh? - Part of my motivation to go to class.. or demotivation actually. "Don't you want a nice toned butt?!" "No! I'm used to having an almost not there butt, I don't wanna walk to classssssss"

This morning I had a 10AM tutorial, and despite sleeping pass 3AM (Yes, I was waiting for the Yadotsa's collection..), I still woke up at 9AM for class. However, I did not walk. I'm sorry, I'm tired, I'm hungry, I'm cranky, and it's cold, so I ain't walking. So we took a cab.

The moment we got in, the cab driver asked us, "So where are you from love?", and I thought Yay! A chatty cab driver - cab rides get really boring sometimes, it's nice to have a conversation okay.

Zayana: We're from Malaysia.

Cab Driver Guy: I thought so! I'm half Malaysian! :D I just got back from Malaysia..

Me:... Reeeeealllyyyy?

Cab Driver Guy: Yeah yeah, my dad is from Ipoh!

And we spent the next 5-10 minutes drive talking about char kuey teow, roti canai at BB Plaza with teh ice, chicken rice..

When we reached the destination,

Us: Thank you! Enjoy your char kuey teow the next time you're in Malaysia!

Walked into the building,

Me: Zayana.. As much as I love that guy for taking me to class and entertaining me by talking about food, but I nak bunuh dia dowh.. I nak char kuey teow and roti canai now -.-

Because we got really hungry after that conversation, we just had to have a "hearty breakfast" before class..

..

....

......

We had a cookie each -.-'

Quoting the cab driver: "You just can't make char kuey teow here! You can ship in the ingredients from every corner of the world, you still just can't make it here..".

You said it man!

8 minggu, 8 minggu.. Sabarrr.

--

Third post, God, took a week off blogging then suddenly I'm spilling out everything -.-

Screen Shot 2013-10-30 at 16.12.25Dedicated blogger is me!

Zayana thought people might wanna know what I look like when I blog.. -.-
