Red Velvet Cheesecake with Oreo

Okay, so there's this Insta Cake Shop called The Kitchen Guardian, and I recently decided to follow them despite being aware of them for quite awhile. Their moist chocolate cupcake is uhmaaaaazing. So is their banana cupcake, but moist chocolate cupcake first! Anyways, following them wasn't such a bright idea because then I keep seeing all these beautiful cakes and I just wanna eat them! (Mind you, I'm not exactly a sweet tooth person)

And then they have macaroons tooooo, ohh my sweet tooth cravings!

Coincidently Kookie has also been bugging me about cakes, so I said okaylah, I'll bake a cake this weekend.

& bake a cake I did!

Recipe found here.

Super perfect to have as dessert post buka puasa.

Speaking of which, wishing all Muslims reading this a happy & blessed Ramadhan :) May we all become better Muslims by the end of this holy month, insyAllah.

With that I would also like to sincerely apologise to anybody reading this who have been hurt by me in one way or another in the past. I may have done it on purpose or not, but I now seek your forgiveness in this holy month. xx

Plain White Shirt

Have not done a proper outfit post in awhile, I admit, I've been lazy to get snapped, what with bruised lip and all.. But I'm happy to announce, the lip is healed and therefore I shall try to be more rajin with my outfit posts :)

Last night was possibly the last Date Night before Ramadhan, so the plan was to pick him up from work and then head to Pavilion and do a little bit of an overdue wedding gift shopping (I am terrible at delivering my gifts on time), a little window shopping for ourselves (though I did have the cards ready just in case ZARA decided to surprise me), dinner and movie (Transformers! More than meets the eye.. I liked the movie, but quite lengthy on the action side imho).

So naturally knowing that I'm in for a long day I decided to keep it to something comfortable, but you know it is still date night so you gotta look pretty.. This was my initial plan:

Processed with VSCOcam with k1 preset
Batwing shirt from a blogshop I can't remember, I got it aeons ago ; light blue skinny jeans from Primark ; nude lace heels from Bershka ; belt from one of the belted dresses ; York watch from Daniel Wellington ; clutch from Balenciaga and necklace from Instagram: @avenshivegallery (Do check them out guys!)

Initial plan was to belt it to give me some shape but then as I was getting ready, I liked how airy it was sans the belt and it didn't look bad at all, so decided to ditch the belt. End results?

Honestly, I think if it's acceptable to always be seen in the same thing, I'd have an entire wardrobe of white shirts and blue jeans x)

photo 2_2
Close up of my necklace (which was a surprise gift). I love it! Statement necklace + white shirt is another of my favourite combo.

Okay fine, I just love white shirts. Hehe

They're the greater essential in every girl's wardrobe than the Little Black Dress imo.

Yesterday (25th of June) marked 22 years of Shah Rukh Khan being a movie star. Yesterday also was a week (7 days) til my 22nd birthday. 2 & 7 are my favourite numbers (for obvious reasons, duh).. But you see the connection?

You see why I love Shah Rukh Khan?! It's in the starsssssssss :p He started his movie career in 1992, I was born in 1992. Letahdaaaaa!

Okay I'm going crazy, but here's to 22 years of Shah Rukh's movie involvement and to many more!

Also part of #mybirthdaywishlist is to have a collection of all my favourite Shah Rukh Khan movies in DVD (I have a CD collection, to change CDs 3 times for a single movie is too tiresome and not to mention too potong.. I mean, tengah tengah emotional scene *poop* time to change the CD -.-) form.

  1. Karan Arjun

  2. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

  3. Pardes

  4. Dil To Pagal Hai

  5. Duplicate

  6. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

  7. Baadshah

  8. Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani

  9. Josh

  10. Mohabbatein

  11. Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham

  12. Kah Ho Na Ho

  13. Main Hoon Na

  14. Veer-Zaara

  15. Don

  16. Om Shanti Om

  17. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

  18. My Name Is Khan

  19. Don 2

  20. Jab Tak Hai Jaan

  21. Chennai Express

Striked movies mark that I already have the DVDs.

The 22nd movie (Happy New Year) is a pending release, but I expect that'll be a favourite of mine too (it has Deepika Padukone in it too! HELLO! My favouuuurite actress currently). So you see, 22, again! :D

Summer Heat

Wooh, Malaysian heat is seriously killing me. & To make things worse, I am the kind of girl who hates drinking water. Water makes me feel bloated. I can seriously burp after every sip of water okay! *excuse me*

But padanlah muka I. Now not only do I have a bruised lip (I am also the kind of girl who loves biting off the dry skin on her lips..), I am also down with fever, flu, cough & phlegm. Oh & Aunty P decided to come and join the party too -_-' Thanks.

Hence that explains the lack of OOTD shots, or shameless selfies, or food photos (on Instagram and on this blog) because, unless I have to, I don't go out.

These days when I actually DO go out (a girl's gotta eat honeyh!), I'll always have a bottle of water with me. And kalau dah habis, if I can I'd refill the water or get a new bottle of water. Also I have all kinds of lip products in my bag; Vaseline, aloe vera gel (to soothe the bruising & also for the pimples that keep popping out because of the sweat & dust combo), lipbalm, lip stick (in a few different shades; depending on the colour of the bruise on that day -.-), you name it, I probably have it! I also have all sorts of medication in my handbag.. Panadol (for normal headache and for menstruation), flu meds, allergies med, Strepsils.. I'm a walking pharmacy!

Anyways, I'm here to share some useful tips I've discovered on how to take pictures with a bruised lip!

1. Find a lip colour that matches the exact same shade of your bruise. Your life is a lot easier if you own (or have a friend who has) a collection of lipsticks in different shades. Apply it and then camwhore to your heart's content :)

2. If you're confident enough with yourself, and don't really care about the outcome of the picture (and you do not have OCD ker apa, so that you know when you see that red spot on your lip it won't bug you), you can go all natural and just NGAF.

photo 4-35photo 5-24

3. Should you not be confident enough (or you OCD is bugging you) and you do not have a lipstick available (or just too lazy to apply it), turn the side with the bruised lip away from the light and let the shadow hide it, like so:

photo 2-62

4. Or you know, you can actually do the obvious way of hiding your lips pose (also known as the "say no evil" pose):
photo 3-45

5. Camera 360. God knows what magic this app has, but somehow the lighting in the app's camera automatically hides my bruised lip... So hopefully this works for you too!

photo 1-61

Also did you know you can make your eyes bigger, your jawline sharper, your skin fairer and all sorts of editing with Camera 360? This app elevates my trust issues even more..

So there you go guys! Pesanan khidmat masyarakat to you brought by me! You're welcome :)

But seriously, in all honesty, drink up lots of water k peeps! Stay hydrated, don't bite your lips and keep a bottle of water with you wherever you go. Stay healthy! xx

Recap!

Hellooooo!

So I've been home for about 4 (full) days now? And what have I done so far?

Saturday:

Woke up at 4.30AM & I was super hungry. So I had leftover wedding food (from my cousin's wedding that I juuuust missed last weekend) at 5AM and then stayed awake all the way til about 8ish & headed out for a quick breakfast with Z & his dad. Had half a roti canai (because I promised Mummy I'll eat breakfast at home, because she's making them though by the time I was out she was still rolling in bed -__-) and thought of Cik P. Went back, breakfast by Mummy was still not ready so I went to Bangsar with Zoe to pick up my dress and get some grooming done while waiting. Headed back home, breakfast was finally ready. Gobbled down my food really fast and then followed Daddy to my aunt's house. Stayed there for about a couple of hours possibly, had tea there too. They tried to feed me some kuih with durian.. "Tak rasa punn..." Never will I be tricked that way again! (My grandma was the last person to trick me into eating something with durian, long long time ago.) Headed to my other aunt's house (this time from my dad's side) to visit them and my grandparents who were in town. Made our way back home around 5PM and then I had to help Daddy with his work. By 7.45PM I was already super cranky & annoyed so I decided to take a nap all the way til 8.45PM. About 10 minutes before we were supposed to leave for our movie, I was finally done with Daddy's work! At 10.50PM we, as a family, went to watch Maleficent. Mummy & I being the softies at heart cried, Daddy's achievement was that he did not fall asleep :p Finished the movie and discussed the movie all the way back home in the car. Got home, and ZZZZZZZZ because I've been awake for almost 22 hours.

Sunday:

Woke up at about 9AM possibly? Jet-lag cured! Woohoo! Followed En. Z around to do errands for his brother big day round 2. Got home, headed out to do my hair, first salon visit in mooooooonths! After a 45 minutes hair wash & blow, I was done and made my way back home. Was starving since I didn't eat anything the entire day so I helped myself to two plates of fried rice that Mummy made, alhamdulillah. Got ready after lunch, and reached KL city centre by 3PM only to discover Z wasn't even dressed yet -____-' Buat penat jer I rush macam orang gila getting ready. Waited for the bestman and the lovely couple to get ready and off we went to the reception! :D Have I told you how much I love weddings? It's the littlest things that make my heart go awwww, like the groom calling his bride "my beautiful wife" or someone saying "he married the love of his life" :''') & Then when they play the wedding footage (from previous reception/nikah/pre-wedding shoot), ahhhhh my heart! Sorry lah, I'm a sappy romantic, it's all those years of Hindi movies okay! Stayed for both day & night reception. By the time I got home around midnight, I told Kookie, "Kookie, kita nak kahwin lari jer boleh tak? Bawak Daddy jer as wali" because I was so tired x.x & That was just me who barely did any prep for it, can't imagine what the family and the couple felt like..

Monday:

Monday was a pretty chilled day for me, I laaaaike. Spent the day mostly at home with a couple of times going out either to get food or errands with Z. I think I slept the most on this day, because I woke up at 9AM, then I napped between 3 - 4.30PM (1.5 is a nap for me okay! Anything short of 2 hours I consider it as a nap :P) and I slept somemore from 8 - 11PM and then I slept again by 3AM. Don't give me that judgy eye.... I had a long weekend!

Tuesday:

Because I woke considerably late, I had to rush and get ready to go out for lunch with Z at 12.15. Had lunch, ahh how I've missed eating meat with my pizza, now all I need is some carbonara to settle my Italian craving. He then had to buy socks (of all things to buy during office hours..) and I made my way home after that. Chilled, literally, at home with lots and lots of water and staying in an air-conditioned room all the time because I was already feeling sick.. God, please send some rain down in Malaysia! :( By 5.30PM, Mummy asked me to help her cook, much to my dismay at first. I mean, orang tengah kepanasan nih you nak suruh I duduk dekat dapur?! x.x But to my surprise the dapur was actually quite cooling.. I was in charged of cutting and stirring stuff..

Mummy: I thought you pandai masak? Kenapa so slow sangat potong?

Me: .. Because this is not MY knife.. I'm not used to this knife. You see why I wanna bring back all my knives and pots and pans?

--

Me: You tak blend dulu ker all the bawang and stuff?

Mummy: No...? Why would I? Ai, dah 3 tahun, takkan you still don't know how to cook?

Me: Excuse me.. I do know okay, cuma I normally blend every bawang I use because otherwise I don't eat them..

You wait til I am reunited with my pots, pans and knife Mummy! Then I'll show you my cooking skills.. *rolls up sleeves*

Had dinner consisting mainly the prawns that I fried myself and then I was out of the house for a quick movie date. Watched How To Train Your Dragon 2, and I cried again in the movies. Seriously, my tear ducts are leaking.. After the movie, because we were both hungry we decided to get Ramly burger, muahahaha >) I is very happy :3 Got home and slept soon after.

Literally my outfit of the day: IMG_2088

Shirt from Dorothy Perkins, jeans from Primark, shoes from ZARA, watch from Daniel Wellington, bag from Sometime (Vivy Yusof's Sofina 2.1), sunnies from Rayban.

Never felt like I was a Brazilian supporter more in my life..

Which I'm not by the way! Viva la Espana forevs!

If only I can stay awake long enough to actually catch the game..

So yeah, that's what I've been up to the last 4 days. As for today, I have a lunch date, I'm supposed to take Kookie out to do errands with her and then I really have no idea what else I'm doing.. Ahhhh, the carefree-ness of summer holidays.. I admit though, I still get some guilty pangs sometime for not touching a textbook. #postexamtrauma

Empty Walls

I finished my exams last Saturday, alhamdulillah & now I am currently in the midst of packing/cleaning/clearing up my room. Actually, who am I kidding, my flight is in more than 48 hours, there's no need to pack now.. But yes, I am cleaning/clearing up my room, because if I leave my room in the state of its tongkang-pecah (ship wreck) state, Mummy will bite my head off, and we do not wanna angry the Mothership. Nope.

Anyways, took down the photos on my wall & I got a little bit sentimental. I mean, these photos were my companion at night. I occasionally talk to the photos too okay! & Now pooof, I'm back to my empty walls. So I decided to take a selfie!

Photo on 10-06-2014 at 01.38 #2

And then I remembered that I have a picture almost like this too from my first year, in my then-empty room just a few hours before I make my way to London to hop on the flight back..

Excuse the eyebags, I did not sleep at all that night.. I packed up ALL my beddings in a box and you try sleeping on a literally bare bed..

Then I realise... I have A LOT of selfies in my room, and they resembled (well sort-of) my personal journey in Uni.

So much has happened in the last 3 years. So much was lost (my weight) but many more were gained (experience,  knowledge, friends, skills). I feel like I grew so much more as a person in the last 3 years than I did in the previous 19 years of my life before coming here. Alhamdulillah Ya Allah, for giving me this opportunity.

But 3 years is enough, Malaysia, I'm coming home :)

p/s: Guys, I have not graduated yet. Therefore hold your congratulatory messages! Instead, upon reading this, please, pray for me and all my friends that we will pass all our papers & score really well and be able to honour our parents & all their efforts to get us here now by walking on the stage to receive our degree this July. Your prayers and well wishes really do mean a lot to me (& I'm sure my friends too). ♥
