You're A Shoe

Long gone are the days where I spend a day in heels, sometimes different heels in one day - especially if I'm out from morning til night.. These days I walk around with my 1-inch Vara heels and even that I get back-aches if I do not go for pilates in the entire week x.x

Occasionally I would whip out my Rockstuds or the demon heels but that's after a 2 minutes run-through of my daily plan that goes somewhat like this: "Any big meetings that will require me to walk/ run a lot?", "Anything urgent to rush for?" and "What is today's lunch plans - enough time to walk out or quick lunch?"

I honestly look at my heels and feel so bad for them - they have worse fate than Tiff right now! But I'm trying to change so they might have better future though the same can't be said about my back.. Something gotta give right?

Anyways! Just because I'm not an avid heels wearer (right now) does not mean I'm not the crazy shoe lady! I still love looking at pretty shoes and hope to have a shoe closet full of them..

The other night while I was talking to Zoe,

Me: I feel like if I'm a shoe.. I would be a Sophia Webster..
Zoe: Ohhh yeahh, I think I'd be a Sophia Webster too!!
Me: Kan? Cause they're like so fun and girly

So so so prettyyyy!

Zoe: But I feel like I would be a Gianvito Rossi too - I love them, they're so slick and simple
Me: Oh yeah yeah, I see you as a Rossi. My "Datin"-side would be a Blahnik, specifically the Hangisi.
Actually you can be a Nicholas Kirkwood too.. Like you have that edgy, cool kid side.. Oh and you're such a Toms! So laid back and hobo chic
Zoe: I feel like you're such a strong fixed character and I'm just the girl who they decided to chuck everything in the pot while creating me.. I'm just all over the place

These are by far my favourite pair of Hangisi..

A Hangisi for my wedding

A Yellow Hangisi just cause it's yellow..

A Hangisi I'd wear when I need to attend my Board of Directors meeting ;)

Zoe: What about Louboutin?
Me: I think Loubies are high maintenance bitches whom I don't even think I can be friends with.. Even Jenn isn't a Loubie
Zoe: Ahahaha! True.. What about Yasmin?
Me: Min is Chanel, the classic, prim & proper kind.. Think monochrome!
Zoe: But she goes crazy too!
Me: So does Chanel, but people like their classics more..

--

Zoe: You know what this reminds me off? Remember that FRIENDS episode, where Rachel said "You know your whole life people tell you.."
Me: "You're a shoe.. "
Zoe: "You're a shoe.. But what if I don't wanna be a shoe anymore?"
Me: "What if I wanna be hat?!"

Well, that's a whole different blog post all together now..

Twilly

Today after dinner,

Mummy: Where are you going?
Me: Bangsar
Mummy: Why?
Me: Pick something up
Mummy: Pick what up?
Me: Something.. Can you just play along with me?
Mummy: No... I'm not in the mood for suspense and guesses
Me: Well you don't have to guess you can just wait til I come back..

See, I'm not so big on words sometimes. It requires proper sit down and thinking for me to "vomit-out" how I feel about someone/ something - most of the time it involves some teary eyes and tissues..

About an hour later I came back and told her,

Me: Since I can't afford Hermès yet... Here you go!

See what I meant by not so big on words?

How I choose to send my mother a reminder that I love her very very very very very very much:
I got her the Duck Mother's Day twilly (and scarf) that says exactly that.

And honestly I got teary eyed seeing that she actually bothered to change her twilly, put it on and send me the picture even though its not the original twilly :")

InsyAllah Mummy, one day I will be able to afford you the real thing and more.

Tiff

So I have this one handbag that I call it Tiffany (or Tiff) because it's almost like the Tiffany & Co.'s blue.

It is a gorgeous colour but I find it difficult to match it with my outfit most of the time hence why it barely gets out of its dust bag.

Every time I talk about wanting a (navy/ dark) blue bag, Zayana would remind me "Tiff apa jadi Aisya?" and a huge sense of guilt would hit me.

See, Tiff was bought solely for me, Tiff isn't one of the "loaned" bags from Mummy. So considering that I do not wear it often, I feel extra bad cause it is not living its life's purpose!

"When was the last time the poor bag saw sunlight?" - Zayana making me feel like a terrible owner. A sad autobiography titled "Aku sebuah handbag" automatically writes itself in my head every time Zayana reminds me of Tiff..

Today Mummy sent me a bunch of handbags pictures.. And not just any colour, but blue handbags..

Me: Don't you already have many blue handbags? I feel like you do
Mummy: I do not have xxx in bright blue. You already took one of the xxx's blue
Me: But you have xxxx in electric blue, that's bright..
Mummy: But I need a small one!

(You see where I get my shopping habits right?)

Me: Well, if you ask for my opinion, I think square > wallet on chain > rectangle in terms of the blue colour. Oh and don't forget about Tiff! She's small and blue
Mummy: You can pass Tiff to me

And just like that, a plot twist wrote itself for the "Aku sebuah handbag" story..

Aku teruja sekali apabila aku mendengar Aisya berkata "Tiff, from now on you will be going out with Mummy more often". Akhirnya! Hidupku bermakna semula

"Happy Loving Someone Day"

Hiiii

I'm feeling slightly mehh as I write this because it is Sunday evening, and I have a few e-mails to send out (so I don't have to rush on Monday morning) for work purposes. Also because tomorrow is Monday, and it's my first day back at work after a long weekend. Haih.

Anyways, to get myself in the mood for work, I've been spending the last few days shopping for work clothes. #girlslogic

On Wednesday, I bought grey pants from ZARA after my lunch date with Zawir. It's the most perfect pair of pants, if ZARA had all 5 colours (black, dark blue, white, nude and grey) I would've bought all five right there and then. It was the perfect length (something very rare for a petite girl like me), and it was not too loose and not too tight either! The perfect work pants I tell you! On Thursday, I finally received my parcel from ASOS. The parcel contained a cigarette cut dark blue pants, white flare cut pants and a nude colour twin. So I guess I do have pants of all colours now for work..

With all these new pants on its way (because all of them are currently being altered either for waist trimming or shortening.. You win some, you lose some), I figured I needed new tops to go with it too! #againgirlslogic

Today, post lunch with my family, I received a text from Zayana:

"Kentang, where are you?"

See, there are only two occasion where she'd ask me this, 1. If I'm depressed and she's checking up on me or 2. She's depressed and need me to annoy here. Since it's not 1, I immediately called her

Me: I'm on my way back from lunch, kenapa?
Zayana: I don't wanna do work anymore.. I'm in Bangsar..

Thankfully I was already on my way to deliver Zawir's lunch and Bangsar is like 5 minutes away..

Me: You wanna go do our eyebrows? I can be there in like 15 minutes?
Zayana: Okay!

Ladies and gentlemen, on 14 February 2016, Zayana finally got her eyebrows done!!! Her sister said I was a miracle worker for finally convincing her to get it done, but I say it's audit that has pushed her over the edge..

Me: Oh look, there's Baskin Robbins, we can go there later as reward for yourself if you want
Zayana: Or we can use it to put on my eyebrows...

Less than 10 minutes later we were out of the beauty salon with clean eyebrows. #success! We then made our way to ZARA just because it's us and it's ZARA. While in ZARA,

Zayana: You were telling me about work pants kan?
Me: Oh yeah, they don't have it here.. It was in KLCC. We can go to KLCC?
Zayana: Omg, can we?!
Me: Jom!

#girlslogic

About 30 minutes later, we were in KLCC. While at the parking lot,

Zayana: Why on Earth is Team Snapchat sending me Snapchat... Oh they're wishing me Happy Valentine's Day! Omg, Kentang! This is the second year in a row we spent Valentine's together?
Me: Really? What did we do last year?
Zayana: Yeah, you came with Ferrero and Nutella
Me: I did? I don't remember this.. Oh wait, is it that day that I was bored all by myself so I decided to come over?

Yeahp, it was that day apparently..

After close to 45 minutes in ZARA, we walked out with 4 tops for me and 2 tops for Zayana (she previously did some shopping at BV's ZARA while waiting for me.. So tak payah nak kesiankan dia sangat).

We then made our way to M&S' Food Hall #oneofmyfavouriteplacesonEarth.

Zayana: OMG! They have the chips here?! Penatlah I suruh Shin bawakkan balik from UK..
Me: Yeah, they have two more over there, you want?
Zayana: I have three at home.. I thought of giving you one, but not anymore!

Me: *holding a over a box of cereal*
Zayana: :O
Me: Yes, they have this over here tooo..
Zayana: Where?! But wait, tak pe lah, I have no time for cereal
Me: Like I have time for cereal.. This is for my dinner
Zayana: But I don't eat cereal for dinner..

Besides ZARA, we also made a pit stop at MAC (I needed a pinkish lipstick for work, okay I lie, I want) and Nike (Zayana needed wanted new gym shoes).

Zayana: You know last year you came with chocolates and Nutella.. This year mana hadiah you?
Me: Deepika and Ranveer are spending V-Day together.. There, my Valentine's gift for you

And urm hello, your Deepika-esque eyebrows please Zayana.. #yourewelcome

Shallow & Spoiled

This post is going to make me sound so spoilt and bratty, but I'm just gonna put it out there and be honest about how I took a lot of things for granted.

...

It's surreal to think just two years ago, I was still a student. And I still say it's the best days of my life! Student life, especially abroad, is awesome guys! Minus the constant homesick, actually, with the constant homesickness, it's an experience of a lifetime and I am truly blessed that my parents were able to support my education (I am very against people who are blessed enough to afford their own education and still take scholarships... Dishonour on your cow!) AND that University of Sheffield accepted me with my shortcomings.

If you scroll back to my student days, I mostly share about my crazy online shopping addiction. And believe me, it was crazy! I have an ASOS account order history to prove it...

Source: Google
Today, I was #feelingspendy and decided to scroll through ASOS searching for work clothes. I am now in a phase where I'd rather splurge on work clothes than weekend clothes cause let's face it, I go out with work clothes way more often than my casual clothes #thesadtruth. I also have gained a little (okay lahhhh a lot!) of weight and I don't think I can blame it on the steroids anymore. I blame on how expensive the healthier options are in Malaysia!! Like if I want salmon, I'd have to fork out RM30, whereas last time I got 4 slices of salmon for like RM40 (granted £ was cheaper back then, but still!)

Anyways, after quite a few hours of browsing, I found a bunch of things I absolutely loved. I had about like 10ish items in my basket, and then I scrolled down to the total side and got the shock of my life!!!!! 3 DIGITS IN UK POUNDS!! O.O

There is no way I can afford spending that much on work clothes, so I spent quite sometime debating with myself which I really need (because I neeeeeed some new pants guys!) and which I don't. After narrowing it down, I managed to reduced it to double digits.. Boleh lah tuh!

Now comes the painful part, paying. Haih.

I am very sure I (read: my parents) spent hundred and hundred of ££ while I was studying, I even spent some ridiculous amount (and poor Zayana had to join me) to get FashionValet to deliver to me while I was in UK (solely because I was impatient and couldn't wait til I balik Malaysia... Astaghfirullahalazim). Haih.

Now I think back I feel sad of how shallow and spoiled I was back then. My poor parents worked hard for their money and here I was ignorantly spending it away.. Sorry Mummy, Daddy :(

These days with everything being so expensive in Malaysia, my wish is that I am able to afford the kind of luxuries my parents were to give me and more, so that I can not only share it with my family but also extend it to those who need it.

Also, Dear God, please let my kids be kids yang reti berjimat sikit. Ameeeeeen!

---

On a side note of things, I have this one pair of pants from ASOS that I bought back in 2014 and it is my favourite pair of work pants ever!

I have been searching high and low for the pants so that I can repurchase it and have back-up of it. After almost 2 years, I finally found the white and camel version of it and I couldn't be more ecstatic about it because it was on SALE!!!!!! (You bet I got them both)

The black pair is no where to be found but I stand by my shopaholic beliefs: If it's meant for you, it'll be there when you want to purchase it and good things come to those who waits!

Gundek

Zawir is starting his job tomorrow so today I had to follow him shopping for work clothes. As if the 101 shirts he has been collecting all these years are not enough (we actually made a list of all the shirts colours he should have, and I'd say we're about 98% there! Where am I supposed to find a nice dark purple shirt?!), he also needs (read: wants) new pants, socks (whateven?!) and what not..

Being best girlfriend of the century that I am, I woke up at 8 despite sleeping at 3am.. Side note: Do not workout in the middle of the night guys. Just refrain yourself from another helping of rice.

After running errands for my house, we made our way to Mitsui Outlet Park in KLIA. Why? Because I wanted to get myself a pair of sports bra but the cheapo that I am wanted to get a better deal so Zawir suggested to go to an outlet (plus, JPO is like 3-4 hours drive away..)

We reached Mitsui by 10.12 despite the 30hour delay in our plans. I was very proud because I was 4 minutes late than the ETA Waze gave me when I Wazed for directions at 9AM.. #speedracer #daddysgirl

My first reaction when I saw the outlet and the shops' signboards:

"OMG SAYANG! They have Diamond (something) shop too! Can buy cheap diamonds here too!"

Hehehehe

Our first store of the day was Nike (for me) and God knows where Zawir went but I told him that he should just leave me in Nike as I may spend a little bit more time here.

See girlfriend of the century! Bangun pukul 8, tak kisah diamond rings on discounts, doesn't expect boyfriend to follow you shopping.. 0:)

After a few times staring at the Nike Flyknit and thinking "Do I really want a blue sports shoes? Its so blue, its Zayana.. This feels wrong.. But this is a Flyknit, and its almost half price..", I decided not to buy the Flyknit shoes and just bough myself a tshirt and another pants (they were on sale for steal prices!!). Oh what happened to getting myself a sports bra you ask? Well, all the ones I want ran out of sizes (one was so cheap but it was XL and I was thinking about how to make it fit for an S lol) and the only one left with an S has polka dots on it... I don't know why, but polka dots on a bra just seems funny to me... Think about it.. Lol.

I tried other sports shops like Adidas, Puma and the likes but they're all either not my sizes, retail prices or not to my liking (why do people make sports bras with spaghetti straps idk, what support do it even give?).

So after my failed attempt, I continued my gf duties and went to search for Zawir. He said he was in Sacoor Brothers and by the time I got there, he was in the fitting room. I then spotted a shop selling branded cosmetics stuff (like Clinique, Lamer, MAC, Bobbi Brown and what not) and I was about to make my way there then I heard Zawir's voice.

Dang it!

So after giving my opinion to him on the shirts and picked a tie for him, I told him Imma go back to Nike one more time to think if I should just get the polka-dot bra..

Me: It has ugly polka dots on it!
Zawir: Well, it's not like anybody is gonna see it -__-
Me: But I know what Im wearing.....
Zawir: So?

Men really do not get it sometimes! -_____-

He "released" me and while I made my way back to Nike, I stopped by the cosmetics store to see if they have anything interesting and asked Cik P if she wants anything from MAC (cause the last time she said she wanted something from MAC)

Me: Eh P, they have mac here too, you want anything?
Zayana: Ouuuuhhh issokayyy. Is the stuff cheaper? :D
Me: Yeaahhh!
Zayana: Even the laptop?
Me: ...... Mac makeup lah dol!
Zayana: Oh! Hahahahahahahahahah!

Wishful thinking terlebih budak nih..

Since P didn't want anything and I recently had a Sephora spree, I left the store empty handed. I then went to Isetan to look at bedsheets. They had pretty pillow cover but it's sold out :( So sorry SA, you were really nice but I really want that pillow cover jer

Got back to Nike and decided I really can't stand the polka dots and  I declared my shopping done at the outlet, so it was time to just teman Zawir. He's now looking for cufflinks, so we went to Boss, Zegna and Club 21 and found nothing suitable to his taste/budget. So we left Mitsui and made our way to Zawir grandfather's place for lunch.

During lunch, Zawir's new nephew got introduced to the family members and everybody was basically all over the newborn lol. Zawir on the other hand,

"Did you know.... I've never hold the baby....."

Bahahahaha! Penakut!

Post lunch we, well Zawir, went to visit his grandmother (from the mother's side) while I wait in the car because I shy and was given the option to kehkehkeh. With Zawir gone, Zoe 7 hours behind, Zayana was the only Z left..

*talking about the picture where Zawir commented saying Zayana looked pregnant.. I apologise for his manners*

Zayana: Do I really look fat though?
Me: No lah! Its just the way your hands were placed, making it look like you're resting it on your stomach.
Zayana: Seriously??? Haih, I can't wear tight clothes, I can't wear loose clothes..... What can I wear Aisya?
Me: Noo! It's not the clothes, it's your hands position. Optical illusion jer, chill lah.. You don't have to make it a kain lap meja yet (inside joke)
Zayana: BAHAHAHA! You'll never know..
Me: Now now, don't do anything rash
Zayana: Child, I just had a packet of Oreos for lunch.. Anorexia is not something you should be scared about for me
Me: Nooooooo! I mean don't make it into a kain lap! You can't even starve yourself for half a day if it's not with niat "... kerana Allah SWT"

Zayana is one heck of a complicated child.
For the years I've known her, she's almost always fasting Monday-Thursday because God knows how many promises she has made with God, and yet she could barely make it til lunch with nothing in her stomach on days she's not fasting..

Me: Zayana, I'm in a pickle.. Zawir is visiting his grandma and I'm in the car and I really need to pee..
Zayana: Why didn't you follow?
Me: Cause contrary to popular belief.. I tau malu okay!
Zayana: Ahahahahahaha!
Me: Let's not talk about the sea... (cause we were talking about the sea previously)

So we talked about life

Zayana: He just wants to add (insert name) to his gundek list!
Me: ...... HAHAHAHAHAHhAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH That's not how you spell it!!! *insert laughing til you cry emoji, lots and lots of the emoji*
Zayana: REALLY?! Damn.. And here I was really proud for using a bombastic Malay word!
Me: Omg, I might just pee from this... Ahahahahahahahahahahah!

Gundik = concubine, and it's spelled with an "i" yer tuan-tuan dan puan-puan.

After another half an hour of pointless conversation, Zawir came back and off we went to Pavilion for more shopping (for him)! By the time we reached Pavilion we were soooo tired. We went to Parkson and Zawir got his pants, then we went to Uniqlo for his inner t-shirts and socks, back to Pavilion to go to Nike for my sports bra (I caved! I know....) and some drinks and snacks for the road..

Next stop Bangsar Village. Zawir actually fell asleep while waiting for me to find parking in BV, kesian dia.. We quickly ran our errands in BV (light bulbs shopping lah, pants alteration, grocery shopping and quick refreshments for Zawir) and zoomed to Hartamas to pick up his dry cleaning (last stop for the day, woohoo!)

So the entire thing you just read above equals to... about half a tank of minyak, >RM30 on tolls + parking fees, 180++km and 6-7 hours of being out of the house.

You guys penat baca, I pun penat..

WM

I've been having strong Italian food craving for awhile now, in fact one morning I woke up, it was barely 8AM and I was already craving for a bowl of carbonara...

So I was determined that this weekend I shall get my craving settled.

Saturday morning I woke up with a grumbling stomach and I texted Min asking if she's showered. Obviously woman said no and took her another hour to shower and get ready, seriously no such thing as "Min I'm outside your house let's go eat" kind of outing with this girl.

By noon we reached BV and had brunch at Wondermama.

WM Pasta A La Carbonara.

So good guys, SO good! The carbonara comes with marmite chicken (& cucumber that I quickly removed and passed to Min) on top.

Oh & remember to ask for extra pedas then ask for more cili flakes okay (sorry, tekak Melayu)

SO GOOD!

The selfies we took before the food came.

Min said I look glowy & tanned and my instant reaction was "Tan was probably Bali, I knew it I should've applied sun block even though I wasn't at the beach... Glowy, it's Benefit's High Beam".
Best highlighter EVER! Just apply it above your eyebrows, on your cheek bone and at the centre of your nose, top it off with loose powder (so you don't look too shiny) and you're ready to go! You're welcome.

We did a brief window shopping and then we both headed home.

Found this dress at ZARA & I was contemplating if I wanted to get it for workwear or not.  I call it my Tuesday Addams look, because it's the slightly less grim version of Wednesday Addams' clothes.

I think it shall be a yes (based on the response I gathered from Instagram) ehehehe! x)

Zoe, Min & I all have DW watches and sometimes we'd go out and all 3 of us are wearing the same watch (Min & Zoe would normally be wearing the same strap, I should seriously start wearing my Sheffield strap..) and we never took a picture, so this time we did and next time we will take one when Zoe's back. #missyouZoe!

Sweater Weather

If you're following me on Twitter/Instagram, you'd know that last weekend I was in Bali for my company's annual trip.

The entire trip was actually free and easy (more about it later) but one thing was planned and that's sorta compulsory for you to attend; The Gala Dinner. It's not any dinner, it's a themed dinner.. They organisers really went all out planning this, they even sent us an e-mail with a mood board to help us pick out/have an idea of what to wear.

The chosen theme was: Nautical. So most of us immediately knew that we were going to wear, "Just get a stripe top, and you're done!". Easy peasy it was. But Aisya being Aisya, despite having like more than one stripe top, I just HAD to go look for more.

Lucky me my office is right above a mall... Muahahaha. So one lunch break, I stepped into Topshop (first Topshop purchase in like 3 years minimum..) and LETAHDAAA! The perfect top found in like less than 5 minutes. It was a black and white stripes cropped top with long sleeves and high collar. I chose to wear it with my highwaisted asymmetrical skirt.

What I saw next caught my eye, because it's almost winter now in the UK, there were like so many sweater looking crop tops in Topshop and I've been looking for them EVERYWHERE! Because they're not the super short crop top kind, they're the relatively modest crop top (provided you do not raise your hands up).

OBSESSED! ♥

Diwali 2014

As I announced sometime back, my room redecoration is currently on-going.

It's moving, it's moving.. Seriously!

I'm left with installing "curtains" for my handbags & shoe shelves (so they don't get too dusty; suede shoes are damn hard to maintain okay! I have special lint rollers just for my shoes -__-), complete de-dusting the room (which at this rate I think I'm just gonna pay someone to mop and dust my room for a day), install my air purifier (I swear I am allergic to my room it's so bad -__-), get a new bed (my phase for day beds are so over.. Maybe my guests can now sleep on the daybed!) & then I think I'm done! Think..

I don't know, it's very hard to say.

You see, sometimes I have a clear idea of what I want but there are times when sometimes it's not so black and white, it's more like grey.. #okaythatwaslame #lols Anyways! Yeah, because it's an on-going thing, as I proceed to do something, then I realise "Oh! I think I wanna add this" and I'd have to wait til the next available weekend for me to go and get the item (because really guys, my days are THAT limited now; salute to all working mothers, especially those without maids *cough my mother cough* S-A-L-U-T-E!!!) and everything else gets delayed by another week -.-

Anyways, yeah so far I've decided to get the major stuff done first, whereas all those mini tidbits of decorating can come in later.

So as for big stuff, #1 on the agenda is to go to IKEA and get my long awaited furnitures.

About two weeks back (as on Instagram.. Come on, don't you guys use Insta to tell you how long it's been since that particular event? No? #weirdoisme), I dragged my overly eager self to IKEA on guess...

DEEPAVALI DAYYY!!!!

Everybody (okaylah, my boyfriend jer actually, nobody else really cared about me queue-ing up for hours at IKEA..) warned me about there's going to be LOTS of people at IKEA, given that it is a public holiday. I konon-nya ingat pandai sangat dah diri nih, confidently said,

"Don't worry sayang! I figured it all out.. I'll go suuuuper early in the morning, like by 10 I'll be at IKEA already. I'm sure Malaysians like to sleep in on public holidays :)"

I reached IKEA by 10.15AM.... There was already a queue to enter IKEA's parking! -________-"

"Damn it! The entire KL shared the same thought as me -.-" as I was entering parking. Alhamdulillah, parking was really easy however!

(K I share with you life tip okay, baca bismillah when you enter parking and talk to God, say "Ya Allah, pleaseeeeee help me find parking easily". InsyAllah in about a minute or two later, you'll find parking. #faithinGod)

Anyways, Yasmin was my partner in crime for that day and we took our own sweet time going through each display rooms in IKEA, then picking out stuff at the part before you pick up the furnitures.. I blame it on all the Bollywood songs they were playing. Seriously guys, they had it all, from Shah Rukh Khan's classics to his newbie songs, ALL! I think I was more excited about that than the actual furniture shopping.

Then we reached the furniture self pick-up, and it was like entering parking all over again... BAPAK RAMAI ORANG OKAY! O.O Not only it was a hassle to get from one side to the other (due to the insane queue), but it took me a sole ONE HOUR to pay....

Seriously, nasib baik Shah Rukh Khan's songs were playing. It's like they knew! :p

Yes.. Yasmin.. Sit there.. And take my pictures instead of helping me with this... Yes.... -___-

All sorted! Leggo pay! *play more Shahrukh Khan songs IKEA!*

Seriously, I'm not making this up okay. If it weren't for the Hindi songs playing, I don't know what I'll be doing for an hour because towards half of it Min left me to go buy curry puffs. Our priorities in life guys are so (Y)!

Once we paid (twice, because I forgot one item, the top reason why I dragged myself to IKEA, hence I had to go back to the same counter and asked the nice lady if she can help me pay for one item) and Min got her pan mee, it's time to fit the items in the car!

Hoho... That was funnnnn.

Seriously, of course me being me just HAD to buy the biggest table top I can find (Don't judge k. When I was in UK, my #1 priority for a room was to have big, huge tables. Sharing toilets all I can deal, but small tables, I cannot), tapi kereta bukanlah besar mana. Hehehe!

But if I can pass an Accounting degree in one shot, I can fit a table top in my small little Milo lah okay!

After that we made our way to my house and had lunch. Not long after that I dropped Min at Publika and picked up Raema (also sometimes known as Shrimpy on this blog) and off we went to Zayana's place.

Initially we were supposed to have lunch at Antonio's, but since it's Diwali, Antonio's was closed for half the day :( Instead we spent the evening at Pisang's, even got a tour of her housing area because we were already in the car and at the gate only to discover that the reason why we went out of the house in the first place is no longer there -_____-' #anotheroneoftheidioticthingswegetourselvesinto

After Maghrib my parents started calling and asking where I am. Upon hearing I'm at Cik P's, terus "Oh okay.. Jangan balik lambat, bye!".. Such trust in Pisang, lol.

Being the goody two shoes that I am (no actually it was because we all had work the next day...), we made our way home after that.

Sooo yeah. That was how my Diwali went! :D

Also, I hereby declare that if I ever want to go to IKEA, I'll go on Diwali! Cause that's when they'll play SRK's songs to accompany me. It's like never having to step out of my car (yes, is it any surprise that I have SRK songs in my car?).

"Aisya, it's called listening to songs from your phone on earphones! -___-" -Cik P.

Wardrobe Crisis!

I am leaving for the airport in about 9 hours, of course I've not pack.. But that's not even the problem.. The problem is, I don't know WHAT to pack! O.O

Honestly, what DO you wear for your graduation? An event where you know you're going to take a photograph, a photograph which at this rate is more important than your IC/passport photographs (you get to change them once your turn 21/when your passport expires)!! This is the photograph that you'll be hanging in your home. One in your parents' house and one in (insyAllah) my own home where my  parents grandkids and my kids are going to see (and shall not judge, hopefully).. This is a photograph that will last a life time! O.O

So yeah, I'm a little freaked out. What DO you wear?!

I know for a fact that I'd prefer to be in pants. I'm sorry, when I see bare legs underneath a robe, it just looks weird to me.. :/ I think it's all those wearing-a-robe-w/o-wearing pants/wearing shorts around the house that I do that destroyed the image for me.. I'd feel... Not dressed.

But should I not find a suitable (read: formal, yet fancy, but not over the top, yet outstanding, but not in a clown-ish way) top to go with pants, I guess I have to resort to a dress.. There are just so many options for mixing and matching! Ahhhhhhh!

I just can't make up my minddddd, haih!

But one thing I know though,

I'm graduating in a pair of white court heels.
Min: Sya! What are you wearing for graduation?

Me: If you're asking about what clothes I'm wearing, I don't know. But I'm wearing these babies (the shoes) for graduation :D

Min: How can you pick a shoe before you pick out what clothes you're going to wear?!

Me: .... I do that all the time!

Dinner & Dance 2014

Since my exams are in 6 weeks, I am spending most of my days at home with my books/laptop. Therefore, less/no chance of OOTDs :( Booo!

Anyways, found an (not so) old outfit I wore that I've not post about.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Outfit for MASSOC's Dinner & Dance: Top from ASOS, "skirt" was actually a dress from ZARA but I didn't like the top bit so I decided to snip the straps of the top off and tuck it in and make it into a skirt (see the zipper is at the side is joined to the top and skirt part, therefore I can't just snip off the top entirely cause the zipper would still need to be there...), shoes from ZARA (the nude twin of the demon heels.. This is less/not-at-all demonic. It's actually one of my favourite) and watch from Daniel Wellington with the Sheffield (black) strap on :)

More pictures from Dinner and Dance to follow soon! But here's a snippet (of moi of course :P):

P/S: This top is going against my new "let's wear less revealing outfit" resolution... It has got to go.. Soon.. It's really pretty okay! It's really hard to part with.. But I have given away some of my "revealing" clothes already.. Shall set up a post of things I wanna sell-off/give away soon!

Well.. Hopefully soon.. If not in June.

S&S Biggest Fan 2014

About a week ago, as I was getting ready for my big interviews in London I got a tag from Sereni & Shentel on Instagram.

Screen Shot 2014-04-12 at 13.35.43

I won third place for the Sereni & Shentel Biggest Fan 2014 photo competition!

(Which would explain why my Instagram at one point was filled with photos of me in headbands...)

It was a lovely way to kick start a big day for me. Alhamdulillah :) So what I won was RM500 to spend on Sereni & Shentel. In other words, free headbands! :D Woohoo!

Now I know I said my headbands collection is complete, but it is free headbands, why waste right? So I went on to order my headbands the following day.

Fast forward 10 days later, this morning I woke up to a call from the delivery people. Which resulted in me screaming at them (because seriously, you do not wake me up and ask me the same questions over and over again and then ask me a stupid question BEFORE 9.30AM! #notamorningperson #tooearlyforidiots)

First Person: Hello, Miss Aisya, can I have the landmark near your house?

Me: (gives possible nearest landmark)

First Person: We cannot find your street on the map..

Me: Try googling this street..

First Person: Oh you mean you gave us your wrong address?

Me: No, I gave you the right address but my street is near the street I just gave you.. It's literally just to the right of that street..

First Person: Can you give us the new address?

Me: -_____________________- (gives address)

First Person: Still cannot find it lah Mam, kejap I pass you to someone else

Second Person: Kak, bagi address balik Kak?

Me: .... (Gives address)

Second Person: Landmark paling dekat apa eh Kak?

Me: ...... (Gives landmark)

Second Person: Takde pun Kak.. Repeat balik address..

Me: (Bagi address lagi sekali.. -____-)

Second: Kak, bagi address cantik sikit boleh tak? Tak jumpa lah kak the street

Me: .... YOU NAK I CANTIKKAN ADDRESS I MACAM MANA?! DAH ADDRESS I MEMANG MACAM TUH!!! -___________-"

Third Person: Kak. Betul eh this address (reads address)

Me: Yes.

Third Person: Ohh okay. Is it near (said landmark)

Me: Yeesss...

Third Person: So kiri kalau we're from (insert location) we turn left kan?

Me: Ha, betul.

Third Person: Ahh okay Kak. Kejap lagi kiteorg hantar barang.

Me: Okay, thank you.

See I know I have quite a high level of tolerance for idiots and annoying people (as I am one of those people too :p) but seriously, I have my limits too okay! #iamonlyhuman

Anyways, received my parcels and tore the wrapping off straight away :3

Processed with VSCOcam with c2 preset

Hehehe *peace*

Mummy: Hahahaha! What did they give you?!

Me: Hehe I chose these. It's free.. See, if I had to pay for it I would've hesitated but then you know since it's free, why noooot.

That was her reaction when she saw the black stripey ones. She was okay with the red stripes and the blue one, a bit on the fence with the polka-dots one.

When I took out the Kuching Cat (the pink bow)...

Mummy: YA. ALLAH. O.O

Me: Hehehehe, the sister won me the headbands okay!

Mummy: What sister?

Me: I have this one in copper/brown which I wore in Disneyland and won the competition for me! :D So this is a tribute to it. Plus, it makes me feel like Minnie :D

Mummy: ... -___-'

Sure.. Maleficent headband she gets, pink bow headband she thinks I'm nuts.. #women -__-'

But whatever, I love them! :D

Thank you Daddy & Mummy for my Paris trip. Thank you Sereni & Shentel for the gorgeous headbands (these and those in my collection)! Tak menang MHSelfie and a trip to Paris, menang headbands pun jadilah.. At least my Paris trip was fruitful in more ways than one..

Skants

I am not a terrible blogger.. I am not a terrible blogger! :'( Okay I am.. I AM SORRY I REALLY AM! Everyday I check my visitors and I'm like "I'm sorry to disappoint you guys, but today will be another no-update day".. HEHE *peace* #pleasedontleaveme
ANYWAYS!

Went for a friend's surprise birthday dinner last night and omg, I'm so excited I got to do OOTD again! :D The thing is, when I'm in UK, 99/100 times, I'm always in a jacket, and the jacket is almost always the same jacket.. So like I don't even bother taking an outfit picture because well, it's always the ZARA/H&M jacket anyways. But now that Spring is here, and the weather has been more or less lovely, I'll tryyyy to do more OOTDs here okay?

What I Wore: White shirt from Dorothy Perkins, orange skirt-pants (skants?) from ZARA, nude heels from ZARA and belt from one of the dresses that comes with a belt from ASOS.

Funny story about how I found out about what/who was I wearing, so one of Ash's friend from Durham came down to visit and naturally she wouldn't know about how probably half of my wardrobe is filled with ZARA's stuff, so first she saw my shoes and asked if it's from ZARA cause she noticed it (I like her right there and there.. Her love for ZARA is like mineeeeeee! "Have you seen the new stuff for the season?!" "OMG YEAAAAAAAH :D" Lol she probably spent the same amount of time I do on the website too, hehe. Oh & her bag was from ZARA too! Me likey!) then she realised I wasn't wearing a skirt and it's another ZARA item..

Sylvia: Are your pants from ZARA too?

Banana: Yeahp. Everything on her is probably from ZARA..

Which then I realise, hey I MIGHT just be (because I have lots of white shirt, I don't know which is from where anymore without having to check for label). So then I told Banana to check my label for me,

Banana: Oh no wait. The shirt is from Dorothy Perkins.. Not bad Aisya.. You finally branched out!

Hehe, okay no more white shirt (yes Mummy, I hear ya...).

photo 3

Closer to real life colour of the pants. I swear it's orange, not pink. Though I do have the pink one, at home in KL. Which I've not worn yet.. And a nude one here in Sheffield with me.. Which I sometimes use as sleeping pants (THESE PANTS ARE MAD COMFORTABLE OKAY!).. And you know what guys, the best part of it all is that.. I got the orange and the nude one only for £9!!! :D #ILoveZARAsales

photo 4

I apologise for the poor quality of the photos. Smarty pants me forgot to put the memory card in the camera.. Hehe x) (This is why I need to upgrade my phone to a phone with a better camera! :p) Hence why you can see me fiddling with the camera in hopes trying to get it to work even without a memory card.. Which failed as you can guess.

Approval

I would like to believe that I am a very obedient daughter. Okay, considerably obedient daughter.

I believe in getting into a shit lot of trouble if I disobey my parents. Mainly because I learned this through experience, and also because my Mum likes to tell me "You kalau tak dapat permission Mummy/Daddy, you buat apa-apa, tak berkat punya. Hidup tak berkat, susaaaaah". So yeah after awhile, her words just immediately plays in my head as a warning every time I'm about to do something big.

After some time, I start to realise that things just naturally become easier when I listen to them. Like if I was to go out and they know A-Z about my entire plan of that day (i.e: Every stop I'm making, every person I'm meeting, every errands I'm running etc), every traffic light I encounter becomes green or I'll get parking super easy and super near the entrance that kind of thing you know. Basically, it's a good day when I listen to them (and don't get me started on the kind of trouble I get into if I don't tell them something.. Once I almost missed my train because I did not tell my parents I was heading to London for a weekend..). So now instead of a warning, it has become something that I seek. I seek my parent's approval in everything I do. From big decisions like my career choice down to the littlest things such of what I wear.

I wonder if she knew the okay & smiley meant = Okay, I'm charging the card....

But she likes the pants therefore I believe pants will look nice on me, even if it's a size bigger than my normal size.. ZARA pants has never been in my size anyways -___- Seriously, petite clothing please ZARA!

(I told her lah eventually I bought the pants, along with other stuff hehe. Yes yes, my ZARA fast for a month starts now. Hopefully by then they'll have a petite range and nicer shoes.. ENOUGH WITH THE HIPSTER SHOES ZARA! ENOUGH!)

IMG_0332

I laughed so hard when I read her reply. Clearly she's not a fan of the "baju banduan/penjara/perompak" (the names I came up for this baju)... Safe to say that weekend I went to ZARA to return the top.

What?! I don't want to actually end up in jail while wearing that top.. Nauzubillah..

Loyalty

One of the things I love about my accommodation is that it provides parcel collection service meaning you don't always have to be home if you're expecting a parcel. The delivery guy will just leave it at the reception and then reception will inform you later if you have a parcel. I think this is one of the selling point about my accommodation. This is also the reason why I am an avid online shopper.

It's true, sometimes Banana & I talk about moving to the houses (actual land houses) nearer to our Management School and I am always put off by the idea that I have to always be home if I'm expecting a parcel.
Banana: But then if you don't have that privilege of always having someone to accept a parcel for you, maybe you won't shop as much!

She does have a point..

Anyways! Basically I always know when I'm supposed to have a parcel. Which to a certain level is always fun, seriously during Christmas season the reception people kept seeing my face, especially towards the last week before my flight home.. (My mum takes full advantage of this service too. The joy she got when I introduced her to ASOS Premium..) But you know what's MORE fun than getting a parcel you're expecting? When you receive an UNEXPECTED parcel! :D

Though truth to be told this does not happen often. Once it happened and it was a significantly large box and I thought my parents were kind enough to give me an unexpected present. I was so happy, until I saw it was a curling iron and I thought ... "Why would they give me curling iron.. WHO would give me curling iron.... OHHH RIGHT! Not mine!".. A friend of mine actually ordered it for herself and I was supposed to bring it back for her.. Pfft. (Yes, I did look for an extra gift inside the box, it was nearing Christmas okay! In the spirit of giving!)

And then another incident happened last January when I got back from Christmas break. I had quite a few parcels waiting for me, some were expected but I had two unexpected ones. And I'm like ":O SOMEBODY LOVES ME?! Omg, I got Christmas presents Raema! Somebody lovesssssssssss me!". Turned out it was a present for my brother that I forgot about and a parcel I sent to a friend that was re-delivered back to me because she did not collect it from the post office -__________________-'

Conclusion: I never get surprise mails. Ever. Nobody loves me. End of story.

So today when Banana came back from the gym and told me that I have a parcel from FedEx, you can bloody well guess I was shocked. Because I have been behaving, I have not bought anything online recently (in the span of one week), what is this international parcel that I got?! (FedEx/DHL = International parcels).

And then I read the slip it said "A4 paper size envelope" and my immediate thought was "This has got to be a document. WHY would anybody send me a document? o.O". See the last time Banana got an envelope like this it was a contract. So I thought "I'm not expecting any contract...... AM I GETTING SUED?! O.O Why would anybody wanna sue me?! What contract did I violate? o.O Somemore internationally........". My heart was beating really fast. (Bare in mind, I've not eaten all day also because I was fasting so I was a little bit loopy).

I went down, collected my parcel, and anxiously opened it when I got back upstairs. Turns out, it was a lovely surprise:

Screen Shot 2014-03-04 at 00.21.06

First reaction: I'M NOT GETTING SUED!!!!!!! I'm being thanked! Phewwwwwwwwwwww!

Thank you Sereni & Shentel! Soon I will make a use of this loyalty card ;)

Now ZARA, your turn.

Pointy Shoes

I have a modest shoe collection (hey, they are others whose shoe count is greater than mine okay) and I love all my shoes, though I admit, I may favour wearing some more than others (it really is not my fault okay if certain shoes are easier to match than others!) but I do try to wear them all as often as I can. On certain days I even plan my outfit around my shoes..

But anyways, among all my shoes, I have a favourite particular style; I looooove court shoes or in Banana's word, pointy-pointy shoes. "You nak cucuk siapa Aisya? -___-". At one point I wanted to buy this red ZARA court shoes, and Banana called them "Devil's shoes/Kasut Setan". But anyways, I love how court shoes can take any casual outfit and bring up a notch. It gives a little punch to your entire look, and that's what I love about. It makes you look sophisticated, effortlessly.

Exhibit A:tumblr_ms1979qlPy1qhzt4ro1_500

Not too overdressed but not too casual either. Love!

Plus I love how pointy shoes make your legs appear longer, which for those of you blessed with legs that go for miles don't need help with, but I need all the help I can get for this man. Though of course I admit, court shoes can be a little too corporate/formal sometimes..

tumblr_n17uifxGpE1qcus9xo1_500
But I think that's what I love most about the style!

If I were to describe my style, I'd call my style "clean". I don't know how to explain "clean" to you guys, but basically I can't pull off "hipster" looks. I can't and refuse to put on a pair of Converse, I hate ripped jeans, I've had my enough share of cut-outs.. I like to look "polished", even when I'm dressed down. That's the look I try to go for these days, and I think court shoes does the job easily. It can go both ways, wear it for work or wear it for a casual brunch with your family over the weekend, it's acceptable for both occasion. On any given day, if anyone were to describe my style as "sophisticated", I'd hug you to say thank you and pat myself at the back because means I'm doing something right for myself in terms of dressing.

tumblr_n0xwyxvWpX1qcus9xo1_500

If I can, I would have a mini collection of court shoes in my shoes collection. (Actually this could be my 2015 collection.. Every year I just have to "collect" something, without realising. I have issues, I know...)

These are my ultimate dream court-shoes/pointy shoes:

(See, I've always wanted something with leopard print on it without looking like a cougar, so I thought I'll go for small leopard printed items.. Like these shoes!)

Dear my lovely parents, I will gladly accept any of these as my graduation present insyAllah this year ;P 0;)
