You're Summoned

Moving forward to about a month later after my 23.3 birthday celebration..

See, I hate (and love - you know when I need someone to buy me something) having friends studying abroad. It is so hard to plan anything with everyone. So I have this tendency among my friends to actually book people weeks, sometimes even month(s) in advance. So they do not have a reason to say "I'm busy" to me. I allow emergencies, but it better be a damn good emergency (like your cat died, if you have stomach ache, we can always find a toilet nearby!) for me to be "okay" with you suddenly not showing up.

So yes, I booked people a month in advance before my 23.4 birthday celebration..

Previous year it was "Your Majesty Summons You", :D

I love my friends because normally they just play along with whatever ridiculous title I put as the group's name, except a few of those *like Zayana, aherm* yang "hipster" a bit.

And then of course, it is only natural for me to project manage ("PMO") my own party. See I thought as much as I love having everybody under one roof at the same time, I also like having my private catch-up sessions with them because some of them, I've not seen in months. So rather than having another 5 rounds of "birthday celebration" just to see these kiddos, I decided to have a potluck party with different time allocated for each different group of friends since you know how certain group have their own inside jokes and chemistry etc..

Party Management Level: Aisya. *insert cool shades wearing emoji*

But of course, my friends being my friends...

-______________-

See because nobody adhered to the allocated slots (last minutely) and nobody confirmed the food they're bringing, we ended up with a lot of food! The kind of a lot that even Haikal and Zawir couldn't finish, hehe.

Basically these four were the only people that came the first half of the day, and the rest of the people only came at night..

(Which of course, everybody was too busy trying to finish up the food nobody remembered to take pictures ahaha #fattylifeforus)

After the party was over, Min, Zoe and I had our typical sleepover.

Where we stuffed our face with more food and watched The Conjuring right before bedtime.

23.3 Celebration

Continuing where we left off for my 23.1 & 23.2 birthday celebration..

I wanted to have dinner with Pisang, Shrimpy and Dani in conjunction of my birthday and also Dani's first time in Malaysia (we were talking about her coming to visit since Uni!).

Shrimpy unfortunately had a company dinner so had to pull out :(

Anyways, Zayana said Zawir could come if he wants and that's when I started getting suspicious (Zawir and Zayana have this mutual dislike relationship with each other).. Why would she invite Zawir to a simple dinner? o.o

Days leading up to dinner was filled with where is it going to be. I suggested to go for a Ramadhan buffet so then Dani can get a whole range of Malaysian food and if nothing tickles her fancy, there's always a la carte, hehe.

Cik P suggested that we go to Seri Pacific, and I'm like it's nearby.. so okay!

As I was already running late the whole day (I had IKEA guys coming over to fix the most important part of my room makeover), I quickly changed and got ready for buka puasa.

Texted Pisang that I was going to be late and she said it's fine she's running late too..

About 15 minutes before buka I left home thinking I was super late because it's a Friday and traffic to KL would be terrible. Fortunately, less than 10 minutes later I found myself in the parking lot of the hotel and I think it was rezeki orang berpuasa, cause I masuk parking jer because it was full, the nice uncle who was manning the traffic allowed me to park right in front of the Lobby entrance!! Alhamdulillah!

As I walked to the restaurant I asked God to bless the uncle and murahkan his rezeki also, lol. Then I spotted Sarah (Dani's housemate during our student days) and Dani, who was carrying a bouquet of flowers. I tried to catch up to her but damn her long European legs! #asianproblems

At the reception, the receptionist asked if I had a reservation made. That's when I realised the smart me forgot to ask Zayana who's name was the reservation under! -___- #notsosmart

So I just bantai that it was under her name, and the girl said there's no table under Zayana.. Next I tried my name and even that wasn't on the list. Desperate, I even asked the girl if there's another restaurant at the hotel... *blush* She kindly allowed me to look at the reservation list and luckily I spotted Zayana brother's name and I said "yes! That's the reservation I'm under!" with confidence.. Padahal on the way up I prayed that I'd find Zayana before the waiter brings me to her brother and friends' table, hehehe.

Luckily I did find Zayana right as I went upstairs.. And Dani who was coming from the opposite direction holding a Baskin Robbins cake.. Which Zayana then quickly took from her and passed to the waiter while giving instructions in one breath probably.. Bahaha! So cute these people trying to hide things from me.

Zayana then pretended I saw nothing and nothing happened,

"How did you know to come up here?"

"So we're gonna pretend nothing happened?"

"I don't know what you're talking about"

"Okay.. The waiter said your brother's table is upstairs so I went up"

".. How did you know it was under my brother's name?"

"I said your name and they said there's no reservation under that name then I saw your brother's name"

".... You're quite smart..."

BARU TAHU?! pfffft

Anyways after that she led me to a room instead of a table and then I saw yellow balloons and Dada & her boyfriend, Akhimy screaming SURPRISEEEEEE!

Not bad these people.. Wasn't expecting anything grand, so they sorta managed to surprise me!

I feel like the real surprise was more of Dada & Akhimy - because I surely wasn't expecting them! But thank youuuuuuuuuuuu! Apparently since Zayana was busy at work, Dada & Akhimy had to do Zayana's biddings and get the balloons and what not ready. :')

They even got me a crown!!!!!!!

And it glowsssssssssss!!!

So fascinating!

Cousin It & I love it! Thank you Dada, love you!!

We had a full spread on the table ranging from soup gearbox, sushi and satay. That was courtesy of Zayana's brother. Non of us knew how to eat the soup gearbox, so we took our guesses on what to do with the straw on the table next to the bowl.

"I think it's for the drinks"

"I think we're supposed to bring our bowls outside for the ABC and this is for it" - me

"It's for you to sedut the soup in the tulang...." - Akhimy

He must think we're a bunch of bimbos and Dani & Sarah must think we Malaysians eat weird stuff, oops! Hehe

We stuffed our faces silly with the wide buffet range. I had nasi with lauk, then I had char kuey teow, and a bowl of pasta and ABC. Totally forgotting about the cake I spotted earlier on...

And then the cake came, and I swear if it wasn't for my name on it, I thought they served the wrong cake.

Why?

 Happy Father's Day?!?!?!

Bahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahaha! #icingonthecake #literally

Zayana: I told them to remove itttttt! Cause I said I wanted a cookies & cream cake and at first they said they don't have then they checked and said they have but it's with a "Happy Father's Day" sign on it and I asked them if they can removed it, they said can!
Me: Bahahaha, it's fine. At least that's one cake I know no one else would get for me, ever..

#mayanamakingmefeelspecial

Happily fed birthday girl :) #whatgluttonylookslike

Thank you errbodeyh for the awesome mini get-together!! You guys keep doing you! Two claps for everybody!! xx

As you guys realise, Shrimpy isn't in the photo...
So we had to make it look like she attended the dinner..

Le tahdaaaaaaa!

Everytime I look at this photo I feel so emotional..

Dani's like my first ever friend in Uni okay! Despite what everybody thinks (that I'm an outgoing person etc), I'm an introvert. I actually hate when I have to introduce myself to new people and I have to make new friends.. And Dani is just a super nice person that sat next to me during orientation and we kicked off being friends after that. And when I met Zayana, well actually when Zayana heard me, was when I was speaking to Dani. Then I properly met Zayana and introduced her to Dani.. Not long after we met Raema and then it's the 4 of us! :')

God knows when will I get to see her next but she definitely will have a flight ticket to Malaysia for my wedding at the very least :'(

Okay back to happy pictures..

See Shrimpy, you're always with us.. ;)

Princess Poopyhead need to adjust her crown a bit, crown jatuh in the middle of the excitement..

May The Force Be With You

After finally getting updated with the Star Wars movie episodes, I finally can say I've completed my "training". Hehehe.

I am actually quite happy that I watched all the 6 movies before watching the 7th one today because I swear if anybody was watching at the same time as me, I was the girl that went "UUUUUUU its the Millenium Falcon!".. Sorry! And I can now talk Star Wars with Zawir, at one point he jokingly joked that he can't date me cause I don't know Star Wars....

On the way to the movie, I asked him,

Me: So can you date me now since I've watched Star Wars?
Him: No, you still haven't watched Lord of the Rings
Me: Ya Allah.... May God have mercy on my soul!

After the movie I had to rush home as my family just arrived from completing their Umrah (need to get blessings so God have mercy on my soul and I don't have to watch LoTR you see :P I kid!), I got a Quiz Up invitation (something I've not gotten since like my 2nd/3rd year of Uni, while we were still on LDR, which I highly recommend for couples on LDR. It's one of the activities you can do together and makes you feel closer to each other)

#bringitonbuddy

And after 10 questions...

Ada abang tuh tak puas hati.. :p Hehehe!

Of course I won the second round too *polish nails*

Skywalkers

Guess who is finally up to date with the entire Star War episodes?!

ME!

After almost 9 months(?) I finally finished all 6 episodes. Hehe.

I finished the prequel trilogy while I was in Brighton visiting Zoe because of jet-lag. Today, because I've been so busy since Christmas Eve, I decided that this Sunday shall be pyjamas-Sunday (no-pants-Sunday is a bit too "descriptive" in my opinion).. So since I've got time to kill today, I've decided last night (before I slept) that I shall watch Episode 5 (first movie of the original trilogy) and see if I like it before committing to it.

And I actually liked it. Though I am not going to lie that it was a bit slow for my liking, but you know, this movie was made ages before I was even born.. Things were much slower in those days I guess.

It was actually intriguing cause now I know who is Darth Vader and I am so excited to see how he reveals himself to his son and what does he feel when he finally meets his son..

Fun Fact: I first knew about the great Star Wars spoilers thanks to Toy Story Two when (Emperor) Zurg told Buzz (Lightyear) that he was Buzz's father. Before that, Darth Vader who?

Anyways, while I had to run quick errands today, I let Episode 5 and 6 download and once I was done with the errands, I stayed pun in my room til I was done with the other two movies and now I'm here!

AND OMG.... So much feelssssssssss.

Even after the 5th movie I was already feeling sad after Vader finally reveals himself :'( Haih, all this could've been avoided if Obi Wan didn't show up when Padme was coaxing Anakin. One simple misunderstanding and now the family is torn apart for years :'(

#FEELSOVERLOAD

And then Episode 6 ended and I basically teared guys. This supposedly "epic" Bollywood love story (Bajirao Mastani) couldn't even make me feel anything but Star Wars made me cry.

*please be warned the next paragraphs contain spoilers for those who have no watched Star Wars yet, if any*

It's so unfortunate lah, Anakin was born without a father and was a slave child. Then he lost his mother and he thought his wife betrayed him when he only want to protect her from losing her life during childbirth, and then he basically lost most of his physical body function and has to wear some ugly metal armour with even uglier headgear, on top of all that he thinks he killed his wife and his unborn child (i.e did not know she had twins!)

Then come his children, born without a father or mother and basically stuck in a sand desert. He finally meets a girl who is actually his sister whom she had a crush one when they first met and kissed! Then he found out this entire time the person the entire universe is fighting against is actually his own father, not only that, just moments before he found out, his own father cut off his hand..

Nothing sad to go on about Leia because she basically grew up a princess and well she has all her original limbs, but still, must be sad to remember your own mother as someone who was always sad..

So unfortunate lah these Skywalkers! Haih

But so happy that finally Anakin gets to redeem himself and well, he's all handsome again! Hehe

Year End Break

Ahhh.. So the year end holidays has started for me and I know what you're thinking, "Working people has year end break toooooo!?".

They do!
Only it's not a month long (unless you have that many annual leave days left).. It's actually as long as you can afford (i.e without taking your unpaid leave, but hey, if you can afford unpaid leave too, why not!)

As for me I'm taking the last two weeks of December off and will be back at work first week January.. Haih. #kulilife

I don't actually have any plans for this year end break, but I sure do hope to catch up on my sleep, family time and all the drafts for this blog!

Also, I just love how festive December is. I'm still the jakun that goes around saying "OMG UUUUUUUUUU!!! The car has antlers!!!!" and then going "Omg, omg, omg it has the red nose tooooooo!". Don't tell me you don't find those cars cute?! Also the malls seem to be filled with gigantic Christmas trees and other decorations (lights, Christmas "village" and what not). It just makes me feel warm and fuzzy! It's like when malls play Raya songs and the image of rendang and ketupat comes into my mind, Christmas reminds me of home oddly enough.

See, when you study abroad, you'll suddenly realise how much you appreciate home. You appreciate all the things that you take for granted back home (for instance, not having to walk everywhere and have to option to drive rather than waiting for a bus or a tram in the freezing cold, or something as simple as family dinners), and you just have this constant homesick feeling that you get very excited when someone cooks Malaysian food and you just count days til the next time you're back in Malaysia.

So Christmas lights and jingles remind me of home somewhat, because every time before I'd come home I'd have to do some shopping and since it's December, Oxford streets is lighted up beautifully and stores just play Christmas jingles. It's a very happy time for me because I'm going home and I have the "permit" to shop, teeheehee! But I'm not shopping randomly okay! I always have a checklist of people to get things for. Mummy would give me a list of what to buy (where do you think I get that habit from) her, and then for Daddy, Kookie & Aman is solely up to me, which I normally think about what to get them before falling asleep the night before (it makes shopping the next day a lot easier, trust me, busy Oxford Street is not a place to think!). So yeah, getting their stuff is very important and considering how busy Oxford Street can get on weekends, my record was finishing packing the stuff I bought merely an hour before the taxi was supposed to pick me up to go to the airport.. #lastminutepackingrunsinthefamily.

And partly why I am so fond of these Oxford Street memories is because I am so lucky to have friends that would accommodate me everytime I make a trip to London and eventually I'll have different memories made each time. The first year I was Farm, and that was the year I discovered gnocchi! Also I discovered the meme sticker app and started sending putting in on different pictures and sending it to people with caption like "Hi Gorgeous, how you doing?"

Then there was also a year when Ashley, Zayana and I got locked out of Zayana's flat and how Ashley & I had to sit in the locksmith's car since he couldn't find parking while fixing the door... There's also a video of Zayana slugging her way to her new handbag because.. Because she's Zayana...

Then there was a group picture of us (Zayana, Ashley, Farm, Megat) taken after our amazing meal at Khan's and then was stolen and made famous on a political website claiming how young professionals like us are residing abroad and refusing to come back to Malaysia (whateven?! We were barely in our second year of studying!)..

Then there was also a year where I stayed with Megat and we cooked a Malaysian dish and ate off the pots and pans in his room.. #studentlaife #malasbasuhpinggan. Then while he was away at class I found out how lavish his dorm is that he has someone to come and pick up his trash?! -___-

When he came back from class he had some free time and hence tried to edit my picture and put it next to idk who's picture to make a "rumour" start.. #needtorethinkmychoicesinfriends

It's really a good time of the year cause I get to make memories with my "UK Family" before I go back to my real family.

Wishing everybody reading this a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Cheers!

Dilwale

OH. MY. GOD.

So I just watched Shah Rukh Khan's latest movie last night, titled Dilwale. And I kid you not when I say this movie has climbed to the Top 5 spot of my favourite Hindi movies of all times!! Not only the message of the story played with me, they took the terms bros before hoes to a whole new level (I've never been a fan of that term actually, but the brotherhood they had in the movie *wipes tears*), but also Kajol-SRK's pairing was amazing!

They've always been my favourite pairing, heck for the longest time I thought they were married to each other when I was a child. And I was introduced to Bollywood movies by their movies (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai)! So it's only natural that I'm a little obsessed with the two of them.. But seriously, their pairing is so effortless *insert heart-eyes emoji*

This movie brings back their pairing after 5 years (last was My Name Is Khan), but my last favourite movie of theirs was Kabhie Kushi Kabhie Gham (2001). Although, considering that movie plays more on the family theme rather than focusing on Kajol-SRK characters' romance, I have to throwback all the way to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) for my last favourite romance movie of theirs.

17 years!!!!!!!

After 17 years, Dilwale finally dethrones Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as my favourite Kajol-SRK romance movie.

*INSERT MAJOR HEART EYES EMOJI AND HEARTS EMOJIS*

Everybody might know that I am a little obsessed with Deepika Padukone, as my favourite Bollywood heroine. I think she is so beautiful and faaaaaabulous as Zayana & I would say it. But in this Dilwale movie, I was I went "Deepika Padukone who?". Kajol redefined her Bollywood beauty in this movie, and I couldn't help but to jump ship (just for this movie). Every time she appears on the screen she looks fabulousssss!

The entire movie is light-hearted. Although the drama elements in it will make you cry. But I love how they don't just make you bawl because it's sad, the movie also will make you bawl because of "awhhh, so sweet *criesssssss*". It'll make you laugh and it'll definitely make you wish you age like Kajol and your husband/partner has SRK's charisma and charm (doesn't hurt to have SRK's body and dimples too, TEEHEEHEEEE!). I also like how their jokes are not stupid unnecessary jokes, it's just very effortless and you'll have a feel-good-time throughout the entire movie (non of those "When is this gonna endddd" feel that you sometimes get with Hindi movies) and when it finally ends you'll feel super duper good.

Especially if you're a big SRK-Kajol fan. The last line of the movie, it will make you go "AWHHHH!!!!!!".

Zawir is definitely going to have to watch this movie with me (he needs to learn!) and Mummy (who volunteered to be my date for the movie and released Zawir from his bf-duties) said we will need to drag Daddy to watch the movie too.

The movie also has an AWESOME soundtrack! The Kajol-SRK songs are so haunting! Whereas the Kriti-Varun song is very catchy and brings in the youth to the movie.

Of course, there's no doubt that I listened to these songs on repeat last night as I sleep :p

Family > Handbags

So I just texted Mummy that I'm going to bed, and gave her virtual kisses.

Then I realised the last time I did this was basically when I was still studying abroad and basically that's how my parents (well mostly Mummy) and I communicate. My parents only Skyped me if there was something urgent - like I needed Daddy's help with my Accounting work or Mummy needed help with her electronics.. Really guys, I think the only think I did less than Skyping with my parents was drinking coffee. They are however big fan of viber - especially when I'm in London and doing Mummy's bidding... I remember going "Helloooo, helloooooooo" in the middle of New Bond Street because Mummy's connection kept dropping -.-

Anyways, yes. Nowadays I hardly text my parents, unless to tell them what time I'm coming home or if I'm eating at home.. I hardly even see them too! By see I mean have like long conversations other than the Hi/Bye/Have you eaten/Can you help me sort the TV out please kind of conversation..

I also realised I'm only this close to my parents now because I was away for that 3 years of my life. It's bittersweet really leaving home. Bitter because well your mummy's hug is not gonna be there when you're sick/sad, you don't get to go on family trips and keep missing out on family events. But it is at the same time sweet because you know with every "See you, take care! Jangan lupa sembahyang, study hard.." that they say when they're dropping you off, a "What time are you arriving and what would you like for dinner?" is coming your way :)

The other day Mummy & I were discussing Chanel prices..

Me: At £3,000, if I worked in UK, that'll only take me like 3-4 months to save up enough for a Medium
Mummy: You lah, dulu sibuk nak balik
Me: Welll... At least now you know I cherish my family more than any handbags.

I mean, I may have just said that as a cover for my dumb decision, but it's true though! If I had continue living & working in UK, God know's what else will I miss out with my family and this time it's not like I can come home every 3 months.. </3

So guys, go! Study/travel abroad, broaden your mind, see the world. But quoting one of my favourite lines from a movie: *No matter how hard you try, there'll always be something you'll miss out on.. And family time is not something I'm willing to miss for any materialistic things.

Note: *The full line is "No matter how hard you try, there'll always be something you'll miss out on.. So, enjoy this time, this moment". Nothing to do about family time in the original line okay!

Diwali 2015

This year my company decided to be a total doll before Deepavali - they gave us an additional day off!!

So while everyone else was dreading the Monday blues on Sunday night, I was nice enough to spread my joy by offering brighten up their gloomy Mondays..

"I'm on leave tomorrow, so if you need a lunch buddy so you no need to puasa sbb taknak makan alone.. Call me!"

"You can go on a lunch date with me :D"

Of course Cik P chose God over me, so I had to resort to Zawir. Mehhhh... I kid! I love spending time with him, teehee

To show how small the world is, Zawir ends up being colleagues with one of my primary school friend, Amir. So he too joined us for lunch.

The not so smart kids in us didn't take into consideration that people go on leave before their "Raya", so we (I) drove ourselves (us) to Bangsar hoping to get some banana leaf loving for the tummy. No shit Sherlock it was closed lah of coure! -____-' Although Nirwana was open the queue was more ridiculous than usual since it was the only one opened on that day.

So what happens when you let two boys decide where to eat?

You end up somewhere with grilled chicken -___-'

Is it me or do all boys just have this crazy love connection with grilled chicken or just chicken in general?

"Chickens are the real baes lah okay.. Chickens die for you! Literally"
- Z.S.O, ever since forever quoted  by Z.I.O

Anyways we ended up at Nandos, #nocurrybutgotperi. During lunch we (Zawir & I) were discussing plans for the night and I told him I need to be home by 9.30pm because got Shah Rukh Khan movie (#priorities), but I also need to go to IKEA because Mummy didn't give birth to a boy before me, so now I'm here minion. Zawir said he might have to stay late at the office and it'll probably be rushing for us to have dinner and go to IKEA before 9.30.. :(

I then called Yasmin asking if she's available to teman me to IKEA and that was how the IKEA-during-Diwali-(season) became an annual thing. Lol

And yes, you guessed it right.. They played Shah Rukh Khan songs for my queueing pleasure #excellentcustomerexperience!

As for Diwali day itself, I spent it mostly asleep as I got my vertigo attack. For those of you not familiar with what is vertigo, the summary version of it is dizziness.. But it's worse than your usual dizziness you get because you've been fasting the entire day or that head rush you get after laying down too long okay! Imagine you're in like a see-through ball and that ball is in a bowl, in a 5 year old's hand, who's shaking the bowl as if she's Shaking & Baking. Mhmmmmm, ready to puke yet? With vertigo, even the slightest movement you make (like turning your head) feels like the entire world just move by few hundred degrees... So yeah in situations like this, I normally just sleep it off til it no longer feels like I'm in ship going through a storm whenever I switch side while sleeping. Cool eh? Diagnosing myself while still sleeping hahaha.

Zawir, who ditched me and chose food instead (#chickensaretherealbaes) decided to take me out for dinner... At Nandos again! Lol.

Yeahp, you know it #chickensaretherealbaes

Turning 23

Out of the 7/8 years of blogging, I swear I think this year is the worse for me.. I mean just look at my posts count! Tsk tsk tsk.. How am I ever gonna remember anything in 2015 when I'm old and wrinkly and can't even remember where I put my car keys?!

Imagine guys, when we get to that age (insyAllah if panjang umur) we'll be the most tech savvy grandparents, ahahahaha.

Anyways, let's do some major throwback to 2nd of July 2015!

*steps in a time machine*
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The project that I was on back then was supposed to finish by June 30th, initially. So I made plans to go on a short break from the 1st of July til the weekend in conjunction of not only my birthday, but my friend from UK, Dani, was also in town and Zawir was also coming back sometime that week.

A day before I was supposed to go on leave my colleagues were so nice, they took me out to dinner! They even let me chose the venue and since it was fasting month, my taste buds were all over the place hahahahaha. In the end I settled for Italian and it was a choice between having aglio olio at Pizza Uno's or arabiatta at Antonio's. I was going back and forth a lot and decided to go to Antonio's.

My mini celebration round 23.1

Now that we're no longer working together (as we're all on separate projects) I miss them :'(

Thank you for dinner guys!!!

So how I spent my actual birthday?

The summary version is well, I spent the morning half of it in IKEA, the middle portion of it at home and the night portion of it having dinner.

Please read below for a lengthy version.

Project Re-Style for my room is probably the longest personal project I've taken for myself.. It started sometime in 2014 and in November 2014 I bought a bunch of stuff for the room. Remember that Deepavali IKEA trip? Which somehow became an annual thing because guess what people?! I went to IKEA again this year a day before Deepavali... But that's a story for another day, at this rate it's a miracle if I manage to tell the story by NYE. Lol

Anyways, those things took months to get assembled, not because they were hard to assemble or anything, I just had other things to do. Once those things were finally assembled, I realised I need more stuff hehe #girlproblem. So I told Zawir way earlier that I need him to follow me to IKEA as I need help cause some of the things I want are just too heavy for small me. And what better day he can't say no to me?! My birthday!

So off we went to IKEA in the morning and bought my nightstand and drawers for my vanity when I went to IKEA with him, because all other things, namely 1 wardrobe frame, 3 wardrobe doors, and whatever stuff I need for inside the wadrobe, were bought 2 days in advanced and I got them delivered and installed by the IKEA men the next day after my birthday.

Now you may ask why couldn't I just buy everything and deliver it one shot? Well, that'd mean I'd have to carry my drawers and nightstand to the checkout counter and they were heavy. Plus I'd have to pay extra in terms
of delivery and installation charged.. I cheapskate. Hehehe

Once we were done at IKEA we went straight to my house and project pasang furniture begins!

Am I the only one who gets excited doing these home improvement stuff?! Zawir was so cranky doing this for me but since it's my birthday he can't say no lol.

We took quite sometime to fix it up because Zawir is the kind of person who likes to separate all the screws and make sure everything is accounted for as per the manual.. I on the other hand, finds the manual and find what I need as I go along. But you know, I'm asking the man for help so gotta do things his way.

End product :)

I give myself a good pat at the back for choosing drawers all enough to double as a vanity table. At the same time I also get to keep other stuff that doesn't really go inside my wardrobe (like extra toiletries, travelling bags and etc.)

If you're observant and have eyes like a hawk, you're realise that my left and right drawers handles are different (something that kills Zayana on the inside). This is because when Zawir and I were in-charged of fixing it up respectively, we both disagreed on which way it should be fixed.

I opted for the non-conventional way which is for the opening (place where you your fingers and pull) to face up, so that when you want to open the drawers your palm does not have to face up (which is quite unnatural isn't it?!). Zawir on the other hand disagrees and thinks that's how palms should face when trying to open a drawer..... -________-'

But whatever, we were late for dinner so we didn't have time to change it to my way.

Before dinner I briefly met Dani I swear it's been almost a year since I last saw her (which was on graduation day) and when she saw me she gave me a hug and carried me right in front of Pavilion! I've never felt tinier in my entire life!!

Dinner was at my favourite Thai place in entire of Malaysia (probably even the world) which I realise after dinner that it's been my birthday dinner place with Zawir for three years in a row...

No, this isn't what we were wearing to fix the IKEA stuff if that's what you're wondering..

But yes, that was my simple birthday celebration round 23.2

Look out for round 23.3 and 23.4! ;)
