MOTD

If you're following me on Instagram, you'd know that the firm that I'm working for had their annual dinner last Friday night *queue Katy Perry's song*.

Gone are the days when you can have like an entire day to prepare yourself for "prom" (annual dinner is sorta like prom..), get yourself pampered and what not. Instead now you're lucky if you get to leave early and make it for your hair styling appointment. Some people were still getting ready at 7PM and registration started at 6.30PM.. (Not hating on my firm or anything, I totally love my firm! You work hard, you play hard, example, Bali trip!)

Because the Greek themed outfit I chose was so simple (result of last minute scrambling through whatever you have in your closet), I made it a point to do my hair and put proper make up all (from foundation to eyeshadow, eyeliner etc). Thankfully my awesome hairstylist is also an awesome MUA (because I knew there was just no chance in hell I'd have time to do my own make up).

He asked me beforehand already if it's okay to make my eyes a little heavy since my dress is plain white, and I gave him the green light. As usual when he asked what do I wanna do with my hair, all I had to do was tell him what I'm wearing and say "Up to you lah whatever you wanna do to my hair, I trust your judgement".

One day when my hair is long enough, Imma ask him to give me an Elsa braid. Judging by the texture he created for my hair here, I'm sure he can achieve the same texture as Elsa's braid.

Pay extra attention to my eyelashes.

God bless my hairstylist, he gave my fake lashes after putting tons of eyeliner on me.

I dah lah don't like eyeliners (2 reasons: 1. Removing is bloody hard I always feel like I'm going blind or a squid just squirted its ink in my eye 2. My Jawa genes gave me big eyes aleady, no need tambah and freak the hell out of people anymore) but you know, for the sake of "over"ing in my face to compensate for my dress, I let him do whatever he wants with my face.

I walked out of the salon with the lashes on to jaga his feelings, but the moment I got to my toilet, I just pulled it off. I do not need to be scaring off my colleagues!

Other than that however I love his work. A++ (as always, saaaaayang Dicksum!)

Make Up of the Day #motd

I think I look rather pleasant ^.^

Got home and had a video call with Zawir, and the first thing he said was

"Why do you have so much make up on?! Macam hantu!"

.....

First devil woman.. Then this...

Why do I love this guy again? -___-

Because he proceeded to playing Mulan and watched it together with me until I fell asleep, that's why! ^.^

The next morning afternoon I woke up and got pictures from last night..

Dang.

Zawir was not lying about that hantu part...

What Do You Want, Devil Woman?

We all know I'm very expressive. If I want to cry, I cry. Even if I'm at a restaurant, if I'm pouring out to you my sappy love story and I feel like crying, you better have tissues in your handbag man!

I get extra extra expressive when it's that time of the month. You know, when Aunty Flo is in town.. That's when I cry at every Hindi movie ending (please, at the mention of love for your family, friends, even for trees perhaps, I'll just sob..), curse at every home wrecking bitch/man-bitch on television, would walk out of the room because I can't stand how selfish Kim Kardashian is sometimes, get super sensitive about my boyfriend wanting to sleep extra 10 minutes rather than waking up and talk to me for extra 10 minutes, and so on..

This is another example of it.

Seriously, I'm such a joy at times like these..

But I still think I'm quite bearable, Zawir however thinks otherwise..

Ahahahahaahahahahahahahahahaha!
I actually find this so funny instead of insulted that I end up not getting angry at him even though he slept back for like 30 minutes instead of 10.

2 years!

Apparently I missed my blog's birthday guys! This is what happens when your own blog no longer tells you that it is its birthday.. #minusoneforblogspot

Anyways, I remember telling myself that once my blog hits two years old, I will upgrade itself to a .com so it'll be like me having my own website :D Buuuut considering that I forgot about that and the fact that it might me confusing for some as my first post is in August.. I guess I'll just wait til August then to give my other baby (I have so many "babies") an upgrade :)

Right, so what have changed for this blog in the past year?

Well the obvious one is of course, it is no longer hosted by Wordpress. I've explained about that here. Following that I think this blog has been given two major "face reconstruction".

How it looked like before..

Now if you wanna stalk my Instagram, go and follow me on Instagram okay :p

Other than that this blog no longer follows the journey of me and my Uni life. I've up/downgraded to blogging about my work-life and my barely-there-social-life. I am also a much less shopaholic than before (seriously, why won't anybody believe me?!) AND I don't post as much OOTDs anymore (imagine how awkward would it be to ask your colleague to take your OOTD... O.O)

Despite all these changes I know I still have few loyal readers, and for that I thank you all for sticking by my daily musings :)

Lots of love,
A.

Honest Trailers

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Okay before I continue, please skip this post if you're a HUGE fan of The Little Mermaid (the movie or the Princess herself). We all have that one Disney princess that we all have an affection/admiration for so yeah, if Ariel is yours, move along guys and I apologise in advance.

Continuing..

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH! Okay, so clearly you can tell that Ariel is not my favourite Disney princess, actually I probably wouldn't show my daughter this movie until she's like 18 when she can make up her own mind of what's right and wrong. She'll grow up with Mulan and Mushu.. And I just found this video, and it correctly explains why I do not like Ariel.

Of course as a kid I grew up thinking Ariel is the prettiest Princess (re-watched most Disney classics and I think Belle really lives up to her name) and among my top favourite (It was Mulan, Ariel, Jasmine now it's Mulan, Elsa, Belle, Jasmine, everybody else besides Ariel and Anna :p) but after re-watching it at the age where you're no longer distracted by her pretty red hair (Okay, she still has the best hair and Mulan actually has the worst but she cut her own hair to save her family okay! HONOUR!) and her showing mid-riff and sea shells as bra no longer phase you, Ariel seriously is nothing more than a brat.

"Meet Ariel, a half naked 15 year old and a confirmed hoarder" AHAHAHAHA!

"Ariel traded away her voice for a pair of legs and a 72 hours time frame to french a stranger" who's of course she's in love with "because he's.... hot (?..?)" AHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Stupid girl

"If by love you mean acting like a clueless mute brat so an older guy will make out with you" Hooooow is this character someone's favourite princess?! #totallyjudging

19.90

Realising that I have not done a proper "What I Wore" outfit in awhile, I took extra effort in getting dress last weekend.

I had to consciously stop myself from going for my routine "Jeans & t-shirt" weekend outfit. But I was still in no mood to wear shirts (because that's what I wear all week okay guys!) so the t-shirt look stayed. But at least I put on heels instead of my black flip-flops! *peace* Actually the heels was because I always feel like I'm wearing pajamas pants when I wear printed pants, so I didn't wanna feel too lazy.

What I Wore: Shoes from ZARA, Pants from ZARA, t-shirt from Forever21, watch from Daniel Wellington, sunnies from Rayban, and clutch from Balenciaga

I'm currently very into lazy & comfortable outfit on weekends. Being in formal wear 5/7 days of the week makes you feel obligated and responsible so when weekend comes I just wanna feel liberated. Min has this one grey t-shirt that looks so comfy because it's big and baggy yet still presentable, so I asked her where she got it from and she said F21 and told me the price. It was only RM19.90 guys!!!! MAJOR steal! I immediately went and get 3 of it (white, a must, blue and grey, so now I no longer have to wear my boyfriend's t-shirt that I stole and he can have his grey t-shirt again :p)

WM

I've been having strong Italian food craving for awhile now, in fact one morning I woke up, it was barely 8AM and I was already craving for a bowl of carbonara...

So I was determined that this weekend I shall get my craving settled.

Saturday morning I woke up with a grumbling stomach and I texted Min asking if she's showered. Obviously woman said no and took her another hour to shower and get ready, seriously no such thing as "Min I'm outside your house let's go eat" kind of outing with this girl.

By noon we reached BV and had brunch at Wondermama.

WM Pasta A La Carbonara.

So good guys, SO good! The carbonara comes with marmite chicken (& cucumber that I quickly removed and passed to Min) on top.

Oh & remember to ask for extra pedas then ask for more cili flakes okay (sorry, tekak Melayu)

SO GOOD!

The selfies we took before the food came.

Min said I look glowy & tanned and my instant reaction was "Tan was probably Bali, I knew it I should've applied sun block even though I wasn't at the beach... Glowy, it's Benefit's High Beam".
Best highlighter EVER! Just apply it above your eyebrows, on your cheek bone and at the centre of your nose, top it off with loose powder (so you don't look too shiny) and you're ready to go! You're welcome.

We did a brief window shopping and then we both headed home.

Found this dress at ZARA & I was contemplating if I wanted to get it for workwear or not.  I call it my Tuesday Addams look, because it's the slightly less grim version of Wednesday Addams' clothes.

I think it shall be a yes (based on the response I gathered from Instagram) ehehehe! x)

Zoe, Min & I all have DW watches and sometimes we'd go out and all 3 of us are wearing the same watch (Min & Zoe would normally be wearing the same strap, I should seriously start wearing my Sheffield strap..) and we never took a picture, so this time we did and next time we will take one when Zoe's back. #missyouZoe!

Sweater Weather

If you're following me on Twitter/Instagram, you'd know that last weekend I was in Bali for my company's annual trip.

The entire trip was actually free and easy (more about it later) but one thing was planned and that's sorta compulsory for you to attend; The Gala Dinner. It's not any dinner, it's a themed dinner.. They organisers really went all out planning this, they even sent us an e-mail with a mood board to help us pick out/have an idea of what to wear.

The chosen theme was: Nautical. So most of us immediately knew that we were going to wear, "Just get a stripe top, and you're done!". Easy peasy it was. But Aisya being Aisya, despite having like more than one stripe top, I just HAD to go look for more.

Lucky me my office is right above a mall... Muahahaha. So one lunch break, I stepped into Topshop (first Topshop purchase in like 3 years minimum..) and LETAHDAAA! The perfect top found in like less than 5 minutes. It was a black and white stripes cropped top with long sleeves and high collar. I chose to wear it with my highwaisted asymmetrical skirt.

What I saw next caught my eye, because it's almost winter now in the UK, there were like so many sweater looking crop tops in Topshop and I've been looking for them EVERYWHERE! Because they're not the super short crop top kind, they're the relatively modest crop top (provided you do not raise your hands up).

OBSESSED! ♥

Diwali 2014

As I announced sometime back, my room redecoration is currently on-going.

It's moving, it's moving.. Seriously!

I'm left with installing "curtains" for my handbags & shoe shelves (so they don't get too dusty; suede shoes are damn hard to maintain okay! I have special lint rollers just for my shoes -__-), complete de-dusting the room (which at this rate I think I'm just gonna pay someone to mop and dust my room for a day), install my air purifier (I swear I am allergic to my room it's so bad -__-), get a new bed (my phase for day beds are so over.. Maybe my guests can now sleep on the daybed!) & then I think I'm done! Think..

I don't know, it's very hard to say.

You see, sometimes I have a clear idea of what I want but there are times when sometimes it's not so black and white, it's more like grey.. #okaythatwaslame #lols Anyways! Yeah, because it's an on-going thing, as I proceed to do something, then I realise "Oh! I think I wanna add this" and I'd have to wait til the next available weekend for me to go and get the item (because really guys, my days are THAT limited now; salute to all working mothers, especially those without maids *cough my mother cough* S-A-L-U-T-E!!!) and everything else gets delayed by another week -.-

Anyways, yeah so far I've decided to get the major stuff done first, whereas all those mini tidbits of decorating can come in later.

So as for big stuff, #1 on the agenda is to go to IKEA and get my long awaited furnitures.

About two weeks back (as on Instagram.. Come on, don't you guys use Insta to tell you how long it's been since that particular event? No? #weirdoisme), I dragged my overly eager self to IKEA on guess...

DEEPAVALI DAYYY!!!!

Everybody (okaylah, my boyfriend jer actually, nobody else really cared about me queue-ing up for hours at IKEA..) warned me about there's going to be LOTS of people at IKEA, given that it is a public holiday. I konon-nya ingat pandai sangat dah diri nih, confidently said,

"Don't worry sayang! I figured it all out.. I'll go suuuuper early in the morning, like by 10 I'll be at IKEA already. I'm sure Malaysians like to sleep in on public holidays :)"

I reached IKEA by 10.15AM.... There was already a queue to enter IKEA's parking! -________-"

"Damn it! The entire KL shared the same thought as me -.-" as I was entering parking. Alhamdulillah, parking was really easy however!

(K I share with you life tip okay, baca bismillah when you enter parking and talk to God, say "Ya Allah, pleaseeeeee help me find parking easily". InsyAllah in about a minute or two later, you'll find parking. #faithinGod)

Anyways, Yasmin was my partner in crime for that day and we took our own sweet time going through each display rooms in IKEA, then picking out stuff at the part before you pick up the furnitures.. I blame it on all the Bollywood songs they were playing. Seriously guys, they had it all, from Shah Rukh Khan's classics to his newbie songs, ALL! I think I was more excited about that than the actual furniture shopping.

Then we reached the furniture self pick-up, and it was like entering parking all over again... BAPAK RAMAI ORANG OKAY! O.O Not only it was a hassle to get from one side to the other (due to the insane queue), but it took me a sole ONE HOUR to pay....

Seriously, nasib baik Shah Rukh Khan's songs were playing. It's like they knew! :p

Yes.. Yasmin.. Sit there.. And take my pictures instead of helping me with this... Yes.... -___-

All sorted! Leggo pay! *play more Shahrukh Khan songs IKEA!*

Seriously, I'm not making this up okay. If it weren't for the Hindi songs playing, I don't know what I'll be doing for an hour because towards half of it Min left me to go buy curry puffs. Our priorities in life guys are so (Y)!

Once we paid (twice, because I forgot one item, the top reason why I dragged myself to IKEA, hence I had to go back to the same counter and asked the nice lady if she can help me pay for one item) and Min got her pan mee, it's time to fit the items in the car!

Hoho... That was funnnnn.

Seriously, of course me being me just HAD to buy the biggest table top I can find (Don't judge k. When I was in UK, my #1 priority for a room was to have big, huge tables. Sharing toilets all I can deal, but small tables, I cannot), tapi kereta bukanlah besar mana. Hehehe!

But if I can pass an Accounting degree in one shot, I can fit a table top in my small little Milo lah okay!

After that we made our way to my house and had lunch. Not long after that I dropped Min at Publika and picked up Raema (also sometimes known as Shrimpy on this blog) and off we went to Zayana's place.

Initially we were supposed to have lunch at Antonio's, but since it's Diwali, Antonio's was closed for half the day :( Instead we spent the evening at Pisang's, even got a tour of her housing area because we were already in the car and at the gate only to discover that the reason why we went out of the house in the first place is no longer there -_____-' #anotheroneoftheidioticthingswegetourselvesinto

After Maghrib my parents started calling and asking where I am. Upon hearing I'm at Cik P's, terus "Oh okay.. Jangan balik lambat, bye!".. Such trust in Pisang, lol.

Being the goody two shoes that I am (no actually it was because we all had work the next day...), we made our way home after that.

Sooo yeah. That was how my Diwali went! :D

Also, I hereby declare that if I ever want to go to IKEA, I'll go on Diwali! Cause that's when they'll play SRK's songs to accompany me. It's like never having to step out of my car (yes, is it any surprise that I have SRK songs in my car?).

"Aisya, it's called listening to songs from your phone on earphones! -___-" -Cik P.

Rejoice

I think this is too beautiful to not share.

I myself for one been going through some sort of "turbulence" with my final *hopefully* stretch of long distance. Sometimes seriously it's just easier to run for the exit door rather than fighting through. But when you think about how much you've been through and what potentially lies ahead for you, you'll find the strength to stay.

InsyAllah, 7 more months to go.
