Helllloooooo!
Yes yes, I know, I've been MIA, again, but that's just life you know.. One minute you just came back from a holiday all ready to blog, then life catches up and 3 months (since you last blogged) just passes by like *woooosh*.
But as I promised, if there is a travel, it would appear on my blog! And post-London, my next travel destination was
..
....
..
Bangkok!
It was sometime end-April and it was for the company's group trip. This was my second year in the organising committee and this year I took a more active planning role than I did last year which partly explains why there was a significant gap between my Part 3 of the Spain trip and the UK 2018 posts.. Hehe! That and Yasmin's surprise party (if I have time, I'll blog about this..)
As the Entertainment Team Co-Lead, I got to travel a day ahead of the group trip to recce the place and it was great! Because it gave me a day before all the storm started..
26 April 2018
We arrive in Bangkok all ready to do our site recce!
Once we arrived at the hotel, unpacked it was straight down to meet the hotel rep to discuss our requirements and how they can help us. As some of the spaces were occupied, we had to wait til the next day to start setting up.
Once the meeting was done it was Shopping Round 1 for Dee & I while Azril & Joel (#ENTrepresentatives!) went to the gym (#boyswillbeboys *roll eyes*) First stop, of course was Platinum Mall which was right opposite our hotel!
Since I had quite sometime in Bangkok, I made sure to just survey first and only buy stuff that are below THB200 (i.e. ~RM25) because those are steaaaaaalllls!
Once the boys were done with gym, they met us and we went to Asiatique for dinner at Baan Khanitha. We were too starving that we just gobbled up dinner as soon as it came and forgot to take a picture of it #bloggerphails

Before heading home we decided to walk around Asiatique a little bit more and we found a stall that sells the "crepe" (more like roti canai) just like in Phuket! You have no idea how excited I was because I seriously would just fly all the way to Phuket for this thing..
It was seriously so good! It's like right up there next to manggo sticky rice!
Turned in relatively early that night (~2AMish) in preparation for the next day.
27 April 2018
The next morning I was awake so early cause I was having nightmares about the Gala Dinner. So I got ready and once Dee was up & ready we went for breakfast at 9.30AM.. (See how early I got up?!). I even had coffee during breakfast in preparation of the long day ahead..
Post breakfast we had another round of meeting with the hotel reps and did some more prep work while waiting for the first batch to arrive that evening.

Once the mini kelam-kabutness has calmed down a bit, and we had about a couple of hours before people start arriving - Dee & I headed to the spa for a good R&R.

Post-Spa Dee & I continued our day by buying more stuff that we actually need for the Gala Dinner (i.e. staple gun). As we needed to go to Siam Center for that we had quite the adventure and what is an adventure in Bangkok if it didn't involve a tuktuk ride?! :D
We got back to the hotel about 5ish and Dee had to rush for her dinner with her EY Thai project members while I had a super late (and regrettable) lunch - the Maggi Goreng Pedas Giler.. My God! That thing rivals the Sam Yang noodles!!! I only finished half while I finished not one, but two bottles of water and then gave up.
Took a nap and by the time I woke up most of the EY peeps have arrived so I joined them for dinner at the Neon Night Market.

Later that night as some of the EY folks were out partying, we had our own little "party" in the room as we had to last minutely change the presentation deck for Gala Dinner..
(You can still see my regretted lunch and Ain's in-room dining because by the time she arrived, which was 10+ PM, everything was closed)
About 3AM it was finally time to sleep and my God, have I ever been anymore glad for sleep!
28 April 2018
This whole day couldn't have zoomed pass and I barely have any proper documentation of it. It started with dragging myself out of bed and ended with me falling asleep in Ain's room while "watching" The Help.. Lol
Post breakfast it was straight on prep, prep, prep! And I swear, I love how dedicated some people are to their commitments and it is because of things like this is one of the reason why I'm proud to call them my friends and not just "a colleague"..
Besides overseeing the ballroom's decoration (lead by Dee), I also had to manage the At-Hotel portion of the #EYmazingRace. By "manage" it includes setting the area up (there were multiple incidences during the day where I kept asking "Where's my phone?" because after running up and down the floors between the two venues, who can remember where they place their phones?!) and also conduct the games.
Once I was done with the Games, it was time to get ready and then head straight to Gala Dinner and making sure everything goes smoothly + tabulate the scores from the Games earlier as we had a section to announce the latest standing.. #iknow #imtiredtoofromrelivingthis
But all in all I am super blessed to have an amazing team to support and execute the plan seamlessly! The grand ballroom couldn't have looked more amazing and the Gala Dinner received more positive ratings compared to previous years.. :D
Trying to get everyone together for a group photo be like..
EYAGT2018 Committee - From Flights, to Hotels, Entertainment and Comms
Can you guess what the theme was? Hehe

Obviously I slept soundly that night and it felt so great to not have an alarm or a schedule to adhere to the next day!
29 April 2018
Amanda arrived on the evening of 28th, one of the last few flights to arrive in Bangkok, and so she was definitely eager to start the day early to shop.
Once we had breakfast we headed to Platinum and spent the entire morning there til it was lunch time. We decided to have lunch at the Central World and then we went to After You at Siam Paragon for desserts (because the line at Central World was ridiculously long!).
This mango stick rice kakigori (Japanesse equivalent of the Korean's bingsu) was so good! I definitely prefer it more than their toast.
We went back to our hotel afterwards to check our "damage" and then decided to go back to Platinum for one more round of shopping hehehehe..
Overall damage from the trip..
My favourite purchase from Bangkok - this pyjamas dress (its a real pyjamas) from Oysho that I can wear out whenever I feel lazy.. Hehehe
After shopping we went back to Siam Paragon to have dinner at Chilli - seriously it was so good! The food highlight of my trip! (Besides the nutella crepe maybe.. or maybe next to it.. and the kakigori.. hrmm.. maybe the kakigori slightly lower..)
30 April 2018
We were supposed to take the mid-day flight but MAS cancelled our original flight and put us on a much later flight (facepalm) and we only knew about this like an hour before we were supposed to leave for the airport..
Nevertheless, it gave us plenty of time to do some last minute shopping (at Platinum hehehehe and at the airport of course), hehehe!
1 May 2018
I was really, really tired post Bangkok that I actually scheduled a massage appointment the next day.. Hehe
