Hellooooooooooo - I am back!
I was supposed to take some time off to clear my blog (because seriously who needs to be reading the musings of a 15 y/o when you're 25..) and one thing led to another, suddenly I do not know what happened to my 2017! It just flew by so fast and the next thing I knew, I was on a plane ready to usher in the new year with (one of) my bestfriend(s) in a (not so) foreign country!
Which actually is the reason why I decided to blog again - solely because I want to document the trip somewhere and well it is >2 months since the trip ended but I will try my best to recall everything as if it happened yesterday..
But as that would require quite sometime to finish (still haven't truly decided on how to best write it down really) - so I shall leave my 2017 highlights here as a "catch-up" :)
Went to London with Mummy end-Jan as some aspects of #kulilife is beyond my credit limit..
Had the usual meet-ups while I'm in London with the usual suspects..
Bought my first handbag, decided against impracticality and went with an all-black bag so that it goes with everything since it is my first self-owned handbag.. #thankyouEYforthebonus
Decided to take an "extra-curricular" activity at work by joining the Entertainment team for Group Trip (which was a pretty good way to fulfilling my event planning hobby)
Roomed with Pisang again - but this time for a company group trip, oh how we've grown!!!
(In case I didn't mention, we work together now #clingy #tilJannah)
Went to Phuket for the first time (those nutella crepe/ thai pancakes lives up to expectations!) and had an experience of a lifetime (whilst everyone else was in Bangkok watching Coldplay) cause we walked around town drenched as it was raining heavily and it took us sometime to find these colourful raincoats.. #whenyourlifemimicsBollywoodmoviestoomuch #wheresmyheroandrunningaroundtrees?!
Started to actively read again and collecting hard-covered version of Harry Potter. 1 year down and I'm still missing the 7th book *facepalm*. & Yes, I started reading some Malay novels too..
Had the opportunity to welcome Ramadhan in Mekah :) Less tears and jakun-ness this year but still in awe always when you're here.
First-ever Subuh in Madinah, if I can insert a heart-eyed emoji I would because this mosque, its architecture and ambiance is just loveeee!
(Yes, in 2016 I was guilty of not waking up early enough for Subuh in Madinah that I just perform it in the hotel room *peace y'all*)

First time in the "new" extension of Masjidil Haram too - it is grand for sure but I still stand that nothing beats just sitting down and viewing Kaabah.
Had a staycation for my birthday - a tradition I shall start honouring from now on.
Celebrated my 25th with bae(s). THAAAAAAAAAANK YOU Pisang for the planning (after the Group Trip planning, I've lost all will to plan for anything #planningquotametfortheyear)
Went to a football game/ watched our national team play for the first time ever in August!
Found like my favourite ice cream in the whole wide world - Im still trying to shed off the weight I gained from this + the fact that I stopped working out for 6 months last year.. I tell you, once you turn 25, your body is just not the same anymore!!
Went to Hokkaido over one of the long weekend in September because my mother is random like that -.- One day I got back from work/ gym/ somwhere and she said, "Come! Let's check out tickets to Hokkaido" and I heard the TV (she was watching it with Daddy) about some Japanese/ Korean missiles..
(Temporarily) Overcame my fear of heights - it worked for like 5 days(?) but good to know I'll always have these people when I need to face my fears, even if it means waking up before 9am on a Saturday and driving all the way to a jungle in Shah Alam.
Went to a orchestra concert (for the first time too) in November - despite the ticket saying it's in July (it got postponed..)
Kicked of December by attending a sangeet night with my first lengha (my Bollywood closet is complete now). Mummy, I want a sangeet night for my wedding too! #whoneedstobersanding
So yeah, that pretty much sums up my 2017 I suppose - a year with a whole lot of firsts.
As I walk through 2018, I shall (hopefully) slowly release back some of my posts from my teenage days up to the recent 2016 but more so, I hope I do continue writing as often as I used to (no promises!) because it is so fun to always read back and go "Oh yeaaaaah, I did that!" or "Well, thank God I don't do that anymore".. But what I can promise is, if there's a trip, I shall write!
Til then,
xx, A.
