7 Years

Here's the thing - every time I sign in my Blogger, I'll be greeted with not one, but several blogs on my dashboards, and they are all mine. Hehheh *insert sweat-face-smiling emoji*. That's what happens ladies and gentlemen when you have been blogging for years and jump platform (Xanga, Blogpost, Tumblr, Wordpress) every few years. Out of all my years of blogging, Blogspot has been the frequently used one, given the number of times I've returned to it and started a new blog, hehheh *insert sweat-face-smiling emoji again*

So as I was about to update my blog recently, I thought about why I have so many blogs and how I don't have the heart to delete them as they're basically my diary (I think my last personal diary entry was like Form 1, at the latest). Did you know one of my favourite past time is to actually read the old posts?

Suddenly I had a light bulb moment - why do I need to keep them in separate blogs when I can actually just import them into this blog!?!

*ding ding ding, Aisya has finally got the point ladies and gentlemen, few years too late..*

I thought,

Hesitant-Aisya: Maybe you didn't keep it in one place because you didn't want anybody else to read it
YOLO-Aisya: If you didn't want anybody to know (read it) you wouldn't post it online

Hesitant-Aisya: Do you really want people to know about your past?
YOLO-Aisya: The blogs were public at some point of your life, so there are already people who already know your past.. Plus, what "past" - you were basically a nerd (I know guys, I re-read my posts..)

Hesitant-Aisya: But your writing style is different.. It'll totally clash with how your writing style is now
YOLO-Aisya: But my personality is about the same.. Plus, people change as they grow.

And thus YOLO-Aisya won and I began exporting from the old and importing to the current. Immediately after I began texting people - mostly my friends that were frequently mentioned in my old blogs.

"I feel obligated to tell you guys this - my old blogs are being transferred to my current one. So old pictures will resurface. DO NOT SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU!"

I am a considerate friend aren't I? Hehe. And to my surprise they all actually loved the idea and were looking forward to walk down memory lane - "Thank God you blogged like crazy last time! I barely have any pictures from the past!".. Urr, you're welcome!(?)

So now you have it, 2007 - 2015. 7, almost 8, years of my life (sans 2011-2012 though, stupid me got way too emo and deleted that blog... grrr)!! I can't remember my Xanga password, or I could've included 2006 too - the year I started blogging.

Now everybody will know when I say I was very, very dark in high school (under high-school drama label).. I don't mean like I was a gothic/emo-punk-rock kid, I meant like my skin was actually darker, think 3 shades darker.

p/s: While writing this post, I just had another revelation - Did I really have the same email address since 2007? O.O I thought I had it while I was in college, hahaha. Because I remember using the other email with the word "glam" and "barbie" throughout highschool.... *insert blush emoji*

Treasure

When I first got admitted to the hospital, I was so bored!

We came in the morning thinking I only need a nebuliser dose and then off I go my merry way.. No one thought I was going to be hospitalised, so clearly I did not bring back up entertainment.

While waiting for reinforcement (read: someone to get me my laptop and Hindi movies DVD from home), I had very little to survive on (read: my phone).

That's when I discovered iMovie for iPhone! I knew about the app that came with the iOS update eons ago, but I never actually tried it. And when I did, boy I was so impressed!

I was able to create a vlog easily AND not to mention the quality is just as good as produced on the laptop (if not better!). I no longer have to spend time transferring the videos between my phone and laptop, and I do not have to sit and endure neck/shoulder pains while editing due to the heavy weight of my laptop.

So yeah, you can expect a few vlogs update coming your way after this, as I had a really long resting time.. :p

Starting with the vlog of the day Zoe, Min & I spent before Zoe left for UK, again.. :"(

This depicts how we normally spend our time together.

Unplanned Vacation

Hi guys!

So if you've been following me on my Instagram, you'd know that about a week ago I was admitted to a hospital. Basically what happened was, I had a severe bronchial asthma due to a chest infection that was probably from the dirty polluted air Malaysian is experiencing. As such, I (read: My doctor and mother) strongly advise you guys to wear a mask, even if it's just from your front door to your car..

Tbh though, I did have an asthma attack about a month back. It was so scary waking up in the middle of the night with breathing difficulties, however lucky for me, during the first attack I was able to control my asthma after excessively pumping steroids into my body through my inhaler.. The second time however, even after 20 minutes of trying, my body was simply not responding to the medication anymore. So off we went to the hospital's emergency room it was at 4.30AM.

Doctors decided to detain me as even after multiple nebulisers and an injection, my air passage still isn't fully cleared. After God 5 nebulisers in a day and three terrible peak flow readings, my doctor decided to detain me for another two days!

& Here I thought the only holiday I'd have in October would be that one day of public holiday...

During my entire stay at the hospital I had a few lovely visitors (you people who I consider as my close friends who did not even text me after liking my Instagram are so getting it from me fyi, do not say I did not warn you! I wouldn't hold a fork against you for not asking about me if you did not like that photo cause that'd mean you didn't know, but liking it and then not even a comment?!... Who does that -__-) as my "holiday companion", moderate quality hospital food as "local cuisine", and pushed around in a wheelchair as my "transportation".

When life give you lemons.. Teehehe

It was also my first time being admitted ever! So coooooooooool.

Anyways due to the seriousness of the attack (my heart was beating at a rate >160bpm and I turned into a Smurf for awhile as my body was not getting enough oxygen. Mother cooly said "You would've died" when I asked her what happens if my heart rate reaches its max, i.e approximately 190bpm.... Tengs), the doctors extended my "vacation" over the next week (SCORE!) but I was basically under house arrest.. (When I was in the ER, mother won't even let me talk...... BUT SHE KEPT ASKING ME QUESTIONS zzzzzzzz!)

So basically, I had a lot of freetime.

If you've ever been creepy enough and stalked me, you'd know that I am not one who can just sit still, heck, I even have to shake my leg before I sleep.. That's how much I literally cannot stay still.. So the whole cannot-go-out-cannot-go-up-and-down-the-stairs-just-rest thing is a very foreign concept to me. Plus, one can only sleep so much in a day and it's not like you can just sleep through the day cause you actually have to wake up every few hours and eat your meds... *pulls on hair, grrr!*

Let's just say, after a week of resting, I now have a super organised room and a clean (almost shiny I'd say) bathroom. Oh and I'm also updated on ALL my TV shows, including YouTube channels that I follow.

I should seriously start reading again. But Shah Rukh Khan is calling.

p/s: Regarding the friend thing, not that I actually crossed check who liked it and who didn't ask, but you know, just in case there is such a person.. you should feel very guilty.

What Do You Want?

On weekdays I pretty much have a fixed schedule. I wake up, I go to work, I have lunch, I have more work, I go home, have dinner and then bug Mummy.

I would drag myself to her room - by drag I really do walk run to her room and plop myself on her bed, next to her. Most of the time she's either with one of her many gadgets - woman has a Kindle, a tablet and two phones. If she's holding a paper, I normally just close back her room door and go back to my room. - so that's when I begin yapping to her about my day(s).

I like to talk to my mother about anything really, sometimes we talk about her Instagram - woman has Instagram, which she uses to stalk people handbags, jubah and tudung.. Sometimes I tell her about things I saw on MY Instagram - normally a cute bag, or shoes or even nicely decorated room. Sometimes I tell her about my life - like what I did at work today, or if I am confused/torn about something and need advice that sort of things. Sometimes she'd have to listen to artist gossips brought to her by Yours Truly - be in Bollywood or Malaysian artists.

As you can tell, this daily conversation we have mostly revolves around me talking. My mum's reaction to this daily routine of ours?

Mummy: Why are you so chatty today?
Me: Mother, if I'm not chatty today, you should be very worried.

or

Mummy: I'm tired. Can I have my quiet time now?
Me: Foineeeeeeeeeeee.... Nobody wanna layan meeeeeeeeeeeee, *BIIIIIG dramatic sigh and walks out from her room while she laughs/chuckles in the background*

or

Mummy: Sorry, what were you talking about? I was reading something
Me: Nobody listens to meeeeeeeeeeeee, *plops my face on her pillow*

Today I was reading Proudduck, and you know what Vivy's mum told her? Talking to your mother, spending time with your mother, even just looking or thinking of your mother gives you pahala..

Well guess what's my new reason was when Mummy asked me what I want when I went to talk to her just now? Hehehehehe. She can't possibly say no when her daughter is trying to get on God's good side now can she..

Simpler Days

Me: I'm trying to find a picture of me in Sheffield as a student to signifies the simpler days - do you know how hard that is?! It's like we've never left the house...
Zayana: We never left the house.. Especially you

It is hard! All the pictures of me in Sheffield when I'm not at my then-house are pictures of me either about to go shopping or with shopping bags (even if its just a Boots bag) -.-'' Speaks a lot about my student days eh...

But I guess those do signifies the simpler days - you don't worry about anything other than getting your ass to class, finish your tutorials, submit your assignments and sit for your exams. Everything else is covered - your grocery, shopping allowance, travelling logistics etc.

As much as I enjoy my financial freedom (from my parents) and the fact that I no longer burden them, that's basically the only thing that's nice about adulthood - your monthly salary. Other than that, well, there is no other than that.

You no longer have the time to do anything else on weekdays - any social outings, if its not important, it can wait til the weekend comes. Even on weekends you need to split time between going out with your friends, spending quality time with your family and running your personal errands.

Fuuhhh.

Being a working professional requires a lot of sacrifice guys, and I truly respect working parents. It is not easy, juggling your professional duties and personal commitments. All those years when I used to complain about Daddy working late, coming home late, picking me up from school late... I understand why now - sometimes shit happens at the very last minute requiring your immediate attention and there's no way to avoid it.

So kudos to all parents out there who are working their butts off just to provide us our necessities.

And to kids who rush to their adulthood, I can only say one thing - DON'T. When it comes, you'll be begging to snooze the alarm, go back to bed and purposely miss your 8AM lecture.

I don't always miss my 8AM lecture..
