Disneyland Trip pt. 2.

Continuing where I left off..

You have no idea how glad I was once it was time to get out of bed and perform our morning prayer (Subuh). Because along come Subuh, means it's time to get ready afterwards and I no longer have to try to sleep.

After we were all ready we went down for breakfast and by 9.20AM we were already at the park, only to find out that the parks weren't open yet -___-' So there we were left to wait for 40 minutes outdoor with the cold morning wind. With the three hours of sleep I got between 9PM til 12AM last night, safe to say, I wasn't a happy camper.

But whatever. What do girls do to kill time? You take pictures! & More pictures..

We were blessed with a beautiful morning sun that day. In fact, we were blessed with such a beautiful weather that day. Alhamdulillah, thank You :)

Cons of being the camera woman: Nobody wanna take a picture with me... :(

Once the parked opened, I swear Banana was just zoomed her way inside with the park's map. She decided where we're going, which ride we're going on first and yadaayadaayadaa. Basically, she was our tour guide for the entire trip.

We went on all the marked big attractions of the park such as Space Mountain at Frontier Land, Big Mountain roller coaster & the Haunted Mansion ride in Adventure Land, we also met Rapunzel at the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland. Now that's a funny story.. See, we thought we can meet ALL the princesses at the Pavilion, but turns out you get to meet only ONE princess per queue and you're not allowed to choose your princess. So there we, actually come to think of it, just Banana really, wishing that it wouldn't be Snow White because she hates Snow White. I was hoping to meet Queen Elsa but then her official coronation hasn't taken place yet, so that won't never happen for now. And they don't consider Mulan as a classic "princess", so my next best hope was Rapunzel, AND THANK GOD IT WAS RAPUNZEL!

WE ARE IN DISNEYLAND!!!!!

I would just like to thank my father and my mother for finally letting me go away on an international trip with my friends.

And then of course, the photo session of in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle began..

What... The last time I was in Disneyland Paris my mother put me in some purple sweater and yellow pants okay! Let me have as many pictures of me in Disneyland with less embarrassing clothes!

We're in Frontier Land!

The Space Mountain was our first ride of the trip.

Let me tell you something. Banana & I were travelling with two scatty cats that are terrified of roller coaster. How we got them to ride all the roller coasters with us involved a lot of lying (on Banana's behalf) and using kids as props.

Example:

"Oh come on guys! Even the kid who's half your height is going on this! You can do this!"

or

"The minimum height requirement is 120cm, that's not that tall.. You can do this!"

or literally just talking to random kids in the queue with us..

Any horror stories from our past experience at Disneyland with our respective families must not be shared before the ride, but you can always tell them after the ride. Or Banana would alter the truth of the story.. By hook or by crook, they must get on the roller coasters with us :p

And the results were simply beautiful.. :")

Til now we still laugh uncontrollably whenever we look at this picture. Look at the sheer joy in Banana's face and the fear in Ash's... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :') I've said this once, I'll say it again, one of my biggest regret of this trip was not getting this in hard copy for my photo album (yes I actually got myself a photo album).

Because the two chickens refused to do Space Mountain again, we proceeded to Adventure Land for the Big Mountain & Haunted Mansion rides.

Just like how Banana has an attachment with Pocahontas, me with Mulan, Shrimpy has a strong attachment with Aladdin/Jasmine. So this was her side.

We met Hook!

Ahhh... I have a picture of little me in the Queen of Heart's seat too.. If only I can magically transport the photo from Malaysia.. Also just made a realisation, this is actually my THIRD Disneyland Paris trip, not second because I was I distinctively remember wearing a black sweater on this seat and an even tinier me compared to the me in the purple sweater. Enough Paris Disneyland, bring me to America somebodyyyyy :"(

She was so sweet and lovely, she called all of us "princesses" and had conversation with us and called each of us Princess with our names. She even asked me if I was a princess too because of my headband :')

I WANNA WORK IN DISNEYLAND. I WANNA MAKE PEOPLE'S DAY!

Seriously when you see a character walking, they just get swamped by people man.. So much love for them!

We took a car trip from Sleeping Beauty's castle to Mainstreet USA when we wanted to go back to the hotel to pray.

But then we bumped into Goofy, and omg guys!!!!!!! Let me tell you something.. The reason why I wanna work in Disneyland is not because it's the happiest place on Earth, it's because the joy you get to spread to other people.

See, when we were queuing to take photo with Goofy, there was this little girl, who just really can't wait to take photo with Goofy. She just looked sooooo happy and would go up to Goofy and touch him everytime someone else is done with their photos. When it was finally her turn, she actually ran to Goofy and HUGGED him and he fell down because of the hug. The girl was SOOOOOO happy, she wouldn't let go of Goofy. She took her photo and then continued hugging him too. Nobody dared to pull her away, everybody was just happy to let her be because seriously, she was just THAT excited to see Goofy. Eventually her Mum said it was time to go and before she left Goofy, she gave him a kiss.. :")

IT WAS SO DAMN BLOODY BEAUTIFUL TO SEE OKAY!

& This is just Goofy. God knows what's her reaction when she meets Mickey or even the Princesses.. Haih, my heart :")

Minnie :) Minnie was really excited to see us with bows.. No surprise there :p

Note: My "Minnie Mouse" headband got to go to Disneyland and meet Minnie Mouse! & You people ask when will I ever wear it.. :p

Then it was time for the parade! It was beautiful to see some of my favourite characters in person :")

After that I got too cold (because the sun set already) to stay for the magical fireworks show. Sokay, insyAllah I will come back to Disneyland to catch it, aminnnnnn. Went back to the hotel and joined Ash (who left much earlier) and "melted" myself in our room before heading of to bed really early (the 3 of them were still talking when I was already tucked in). Oh yeah, I also slept on the floor because damn my back was killing me.

Disneyland Trip Pt. 1

Just realised I've no blogged about my day so descriptively for awhile now, so trying to start doing it again feels, janggal. Had to use the Malay word for "awkward"/"odd" because sometimes Malay words make things sounds more dramatic, sometimes more offensive/negative (like how I always find the word "babi" for pigs is too offensive to be used in a daily conversations).

ANYWAYS. Back to the point! About my Paris trip, roight.

2nd February 2014: Hardly slept after Subuh that day and God knows what I was doing while waiting for it to hit "the right time" to get ready. Once we were all ready, we left Farm in our flat (because her train back to London was at 2PM) and went to the train station to catch the 12PM train to London. God, I thought I'll never ever take a 3 hours Sheffield-London train, but heyy, there's always a first to anything! 3 hours train for £9.90 pun 3 hours train lahhhh.. Beggers can't be choosers!

Arrived at St. Pancras station at about 3PMish and we went straight to our little hotel opposite the station. Checked in, prayed and dropped our bags and made our way to my favourite shawarma shop in London located at Edgware Road. Had lunch and then well, what is a London trip without a visit to Oxford trip eh? ;)

Made my way to ZARA, because I wanted to find this wool coat I saw online a few days back. I thought it was part of their new collection but somehow it was at their sale section, and it was selling for £29.99 instead of it's original price of £109.99! MAJOR STEAL OKAY! Dah lah it was the ONLY one left AND in my size (okay, fine it was an S, but better S than M okay), I immediately grabbed it and wouldn't let it go. It was FATE! Also got a pair of pink pants that was selling for £9.99. God bless ZARA's clearance sales :")

After that went back to the hotel and chilled for awhile before I headed out to dinner with Megat. Had dinner with Megsie at Hare & Tortoise, Blackfriars (I think..) and had Singapore style fried vermicelli. I don't know why, I've been craving for bihun lately.. Had a good catch up session with Megat over dinner, God, can't believe the last time I saw him was in September and probably the next time I'll see him is Summer or maybe 2015! :O

Walked back to the hotel after dinner and upon leaving, Megat gave me the weirdest advice ever;

Megs: Okay Sya. Have fun during your trip, take care, beware of gypsies, AND DON'T GET TAKEN!

Me: Taken...?

Megs: As in the movie? You've never watched the movie before have you?

Nope. But I know some girl got kidnapped or something and the movie was about her Dad trying to find her. You get what he's trying to say right?

3rd February 2014: Again, did not sleep after Subuh and thankfully Shrimpy woke up not long after that and we decided to go to the station early and get some nice breakfast to eat. By breakfast I mean two fish burger and a box of fries from Burger King, while Shrimpy had sandwiches like a normal person from Pret a Manger. Banana and Ash arrived at the station not long after and we proceeded to Eurostar's Check-In and waited for our train.

We're on Eurostar!

See, the thing is, our out-bound journey requires us to switch trains at Lille Europe station. Our Eurostar train was heading for Brussels but stops at Lille. Ash, unaware of what's going on..

Ash: I thought we're going to Paris, why does it says Brussels?

Banana & Shrimpy: We're going to Brussels first then we go back to Paris..

Ash: REALLY?! We are going to Brussels? :D

And then those two meanies broke out laughing and Ash caught on the sarcasm..

About 3.5 hours later including the time spent at Lille waiting for our train to Marne La Vallee, we arrived at Disneyland Paris, Marne La Vallee Chessy! :D

Checked-in at our hotel (Explorer's Hotel), and after settling down and a bowl of ramen noodles for me, we hit the pool! :D

Clearly someone's excited... And yes, barefooted. Because nobody remembered to bring slippers for the pool.

And you can see whyyy we're excited for the pool! :D It has water slides and all okay! Uhmazingggg!

Probably about 10 years ago when I was here, I didn't bring my swimming attire and I couldn't enter the pool. Well now it's payback time! ;)

This particular slide goes from indoor, to outdoor then back indoor. It was amazing!

And the pirate's head bucket empties out every few minutes too, so you get reeeeally splashed.

After countless trips down the water slides, we decided that's enough chlorine intake for our noses and left the pool.

God bless heated, indoor pools man. Seriously, winter and drenched head to toe, they just don't mix well.. This was what happened,

Sprinting my way back to the room because boyyyyyy, was it freezing!

Thankfully because Shrimpy didn't spend too much time at the pool, blasted up the heater in our room and it was all warm and toasty in there.

Showered and then came dinner time! Now, earlier we planned on bringing lots and lots of Maggi so we can eat just that and save our money from spending so much on food, because food in France is expensive. However, not one of us in remembered to pack Maggi except Shrimpy who brought lots and lots of ramen noodles (which I stole earlier on).

So there Shrimpy was, casually "drinking" her dinner. While the rest of us had to make our way downstairs for dinner. We had pizzas with fries at the side. After dinner Ash insisted on taking a photo in front of this pirate ship that was part of the kid's indoor playground.

Then we discovered that you can enter the ship, but the maximum height inside the ship was only 140cm or so as it's meant for kids only. Being the rebels that we are...

For the first time, I'm too tall for something okay!

Went back to the room and slept like babies. Until 12AM.. When all four of us woke up, wide awake, because it was too bloody hot inside the room (heater was at its max).

Thankfully for them, they were able to fall back asleep about an hour later. I however..

Spent the entire night tossing and turning, waking up at every hour at maximum all the way til 5AM. At 5AM, I gave up and decided that I shall just stay awake til it's time to get ready. Not long after, it was 7AM and it was time to get ready for Disneyland..

(Sheffield) Home Sweet Home :)

I AM BACK FROM FRANCE PEEPS! :D

I have never been more glad to see the "Sheffield" train station, phew that was one hect of a tiring trip and at least I had the entire day today to rest whereas the others woke up at 7AM and headed to the City of Lights before catching our train back to London at 6PM. Hats of to them man..

Anyways, pictures are transferring (okay, I lie, my camera is still in my bag.. But I'm transferring them out soon!) and I can't wait to share with you guys (mostly future me really) about our trip :D

Play-Dough

In the spirit of the Lunar New Year, Ash & Farmie decided to make pineapple tarts yesterday. In the spirit of procrastinating from folding my bags (3, to be precise..) of laundry, I decided to menyibuk in the kitchen. I came in at the right time too! They were in the process of folding the jam into the dough, puuurfect opportunity to play with dough!

Me: CAN I PLAAAAAAAAAAY?! :D

F: No Sya! -____-' This is not a toy!

Well hello Ms. Partypooper.. Not long after she said that, they discovered that they may have too much dough and not enough jam. (Also, I made my cute sulking face which has always worked for me for the first 7 years of my life or so & now works occasionally)

M: YAYYYY! This is gonna be so fun! :D Now.. What should I make.. Hrmmmmmm..... *the light bulb in my head lights up* :D

*2 minutes later*

F: .. You're looking way too happy doing this..

M: When I was a kid, I always play with play-doh but I can never eat whatever I make with it.. Nooooow, I can! :D

A: ... Sya! This is not play-doh!

M: Play-doh, playing with dough, sameee thing!

F: So is this like your childhood dream or something?

M: YES! :D

Come on.. Don't tell me you didn't have similar dreams! What WERE your priorities as a kid man if you didn't!?!

Soooo, what shape did I make you ask? Well...

LE TADAAAA!

I remember as a child Kookie would teach me how to make currypuff-shaped playdoh & she would always laugh at how ugly my currypuff (I'm just gonna call it karipap, it has a cuter spelling) turned out, especially the sides. ALL. THE. TIME! She said "Langsung takde rupa karipap", and I said I'll perfect it.. Well, 10-15 years later, tadaaaa! Okay, fine, the sides are still not perfect, but at least it looks like a karipap no? ^.^

Maybe the fact it's not made out of blue play-doh helped the appearance a bit..

OH OH OH GUYS WANNA HEAR A PINEAPPLE JOKE?!

(Awkward Stitch Voice): Hiiii

Hi everyone!

So exams are over, for now. Can everyone just pray that I pass all my papers please? That'd be lovely, thank you! (If you have issues with me, I'm really sorry, but let's not ruin my future now shall we.. You can curse that one of my heels break or something, that kind of thing, but not my future okay?)

Farmie is currently here and the four of us had our own "reunion dinner" yesterday along with Li Qi, Shin & Dhao for Chinese New Year. I made laksa Johor while Ash re-created my grandmother's rendang (taught her how to make it a few days back. Seriously, most productive way to procrastinate while studying is to cook.. Do you know how long it takes to peel garlic & onions semua!?). Today is just "chill day" though I'm supposed to fold my laundry & clean my table and not to mention pack for my trip.

Right, my trip. If it's not obvious enough yet, Ash, Banana, Shrimpy & I are heading to Disneyland Paris this Monday! :D We so excited!!

Oh yeah, while you guys are praying that I pass my exams, can you also pray that it won't rain while we're in Disneyland? Puhleaseeee, thank you!

& I hope it's not too late, but Happy Chinese New Year for those celebrating! :)
